QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 01:38 PM) I'm looking to purchase a new slow pitch softball bat, and looking for some suggestions. I last bought a DeMarini 7 plus years ago (or so) which worked out pretty well and definitely gave a little more "pop" than your regular $70 Worth bat. I know pricing has gotten pretty ridiculous, with some exceeding $300. Now, i'm not looking for anything as crazy as that, but more for something to use in a recreational league that doesn't get too intense. I'd like to spend under $200, and preferably lower if possible. Which do you use in your softball league? Which sites are good to find discounted bats, or even "last years models", etc? Or any good sites to find slightly used bats for sale? I found a few used ones at play it again and bought some cheap new ones at various weights.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 09:06 AM) You know I cant think of any NFL players affected by it. Im sure there are, but I cant think of any Deuce had it, Beanie was struggling with it his last season at OSU. -
3 runs 3 hits and 3 walks for Cabrera in 1 inning of work.

Josh Kroeger, Spring Training superstar.

QUOTE (striker @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 11:56 AM) The White Sox have pretty much always had good pitching under Cooper. I can't say what he does to be a good pitching coach but I know he gets good results. What would be the criteria for giving a pitching coach credit for fixing someone? Clearly you cant find the criteria, even when the player himself credits the coach.
-
QUOTE (striker @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 11:51 AM) Can you tell me what Cooper did to fix these players? Fixed Thornton in ONE side sessions, something that seasoned pitching coaches have never been able to do. Slowed down his delivery and corrected all ancillary movement in his wind. Thornton credits Cooper with allowing him to be as dominant as he is today.
-
QUOTE (striker @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) If you are arguing that he did fix them then tell me how he fixed them. Fill in this blank. Coop fixed Jenks by _______. Moving him to the pen, cleaning up his mechanics, teaching him how to control more than just 2 pitches. Taught him basic fundamentals of attacking hitters instead of throwing just where you can throw. He has reduced his walks and increased his control. He has learned to use a sinker instead of sitting on his 4-seamer.
-
QUOTE (striker @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 11:27 AM) Agreed but they all also fell apart, Jenks regressing. Jenks regressing? To what exactly? 05 2.75 1.25 06 4.00 1.39 07 2.77 0.89 08 2.63 1.10 09 3.71 1.27 Where is the regression? And who fell apart? The flash in the pans that had career years with Coop as their coach? Contreras's age caught up with him, but was one of the more dominant arms in the bigs when he was healthy with the Sox. Cotts and Polite arent even pitching anymore. Your arguments are terrible and I suggest you give up that opinion.

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 11:16 PM) Did my first day today. Chest and back. I am DEAD. I am dreading the pain I will be in tomorrow. I was a little disappointed in the amount of pullups I could do, especially on the 2nd round. Didn't even make it into ab ripper at the end, hopefully i will be able to get there next week. Use a chair, you HAVE to. I still do quite a bit since you are cracking out over 150 pullups in a workout at times. Plyo is going to murder you, and the 3 days after as well. Remember, pain is just weakness leaving the body. And make sure you TRY Ab Ripper X. It gets MUCH easier once you go through it a few times.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 08:53 PM) Does anyone feel like the two-twitch speed pushups are almost impossible to do in the order they are inserted in the CST workout? I swear, all three times I have tried to do them after the preceding exercises, I damn near fall flat on my face... Brutal. Do em on your knees until you can push em out. YOu can do it dude.

QUOTE (The Beast @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) I'm not, I'm working on a marketing project. However, I was just going to go ahead and post in this thread because I'm about to execute a plan around this time tomorrow night. With what transpired over the weekend and the amount of texting back and forth that has been going on, I'm going to ask her out tomorrow night. She mentioned that red wine is her weakness and that she would like to hang out this weekend. So, I'm going to ask if she wanted to meet up for dinner at Olive Garden and watch some How I Met Your Mother episodes afterwards. The nice thing is that I now have a single room and have a lot of space to sit and watch episodes on my desktop computer. (I'm also open to watching it at her place.) So, is there anything that I should or shouldn't do? I'll see her tomorrow night at the Brazilian martial arts club. Olive garden huh? If she orders Alfredo, run!!! Its too bad you dont have an apt, cooking for her while you both drink would be a hell of a good time. Mexican fiesta night aka sloppy sex night was always successful for me.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 08:31 AM) I understand you Carl.. In my case, with Soccer, almost all my favorite players are from Spain, so during the World Cup and other international events, Spain is always my number one team to win the tournaments regardless of who they play (yes including the U.S.). But its not to say that i wouldnt get hyped if the U.S. beat Spain (which they have, fairly recently). Ah s***, the World Cup is another issue. I root for Germany in that as well, but once again, not against the US. -
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 06:15 PM) Quick question, nothing too serious. How would you go about approaching a girl that you have a class with? Talk about how much the teacher sucks and then drop a hint like you should compare notes some time, if she's game, you're off.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 04:02 PM) 140 some grams of carbs, yeah. it's a beast. i also have just learned not to drink it before you work out - even if you wait like 2 hours. the last third of chest and back i was nauseous as all hell. Def saving it for afterwards in the future... Yeah, thats a gorgeous recovery drink right there.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 05:31 PM) speculation? Call it a hunch. Berkman is going to be dangled this season.

QUOTE (b-Rye @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 03:21 PM) Cowley>Soxnet.... Cowley has way more sources and is in the locker room, at games, etc. This feud is stupid. Cowley isnt very respected in the locker room or by the players, his good sources are personnel and other media people. As for A-Gon, dont count on it. But I would keep an eye on a big bat down in Houston.

QUOTE (SnB @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 12:54 PM) Hey guys, I figured we could use a spot to discuss personal finance and whatnot. As some of you know, I got married last fall. We still haven't gotten a joint checking/savings account yet and we're finally looking. Who can you guys recommend for good savings/money market accounts? Online ones seem to give the best interest rates, I just need some personal feedback from people. Discover seems like they have a good program. Sign up for mint.com and it will show you all good offers online and whatnot at the bottom. For example it put me into an HSBC online acct last year with a 1.5 interest rate and just showed me a captialone that bested it this week. Its a great consolidation tool for free as well as a good way to make sure you are getting the most out of your money. Its my little money manager.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 01:09 PM) wooo boy. alright starting phase III of round 2, and I just bought m'self some GNC Mass XXX. Basically 1000 calories at a time in shake-form, including 66 grams of Protein. Basically I figured that since i was having problems reaching 3000 cal. consistently, now if I eat the same as i have been and just do one of these every day, I should gain weight no problem. Holy s***. Is that thing loaded with carbs or something? Thats for people who need mass, and you will get it. On your other post, Core Syn looks easy at first, until people start doing it, it will kill you. Put your bro into CST and see how he lasts.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 27, 2010 -> 07:05 PM) Thought you told me they already gave away his scholarship? I'm sure they'd find room for him. Most OSU fans I know have already moved on from thinking he is coming back. Kind of excited about the team with Sullinger playing the 4. -

So Evan Turner hinted again today that he may come back for his senior season, as much as it would be awesome, he's got to go pro, its in his best interest. -
