  1. base hit in the hole between short and third...not sure that fields coulda made that play but im sure crede would have at least made it a bit closer...the diff between crede and fields is big on D helton with a taylor made ground ball tkaing OC right to the bag...2 down
  2. jenks in...he looks a bit slimmer....certainly not any bigger than he was last year
  3. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 03:18 PM) Does Boston really need this many pitchers? the fact is that having option is never a bad thing....isnt a decent risk (especially for a big spending team like boston) to take a flier on guys like colon or garcia? pay em half a mil...throw em in AAA or give em a shot in the bigs...if htey stink cut em or let em rot in AAA...whats the risk?
  4. Oc about 10 feet short of a slam...headin to top of 3
  5. 4 pitch walk....wizard of oc coming up
  6. nice anderson....crushed a double off the left field wall....got a count 2-0, looked for fastball got it and hit it....seemed like he was always 0-2 in 06
  7. uribe being uribe. pops out on first pitch..billy sample jokes "the only walking juan uribe does is to the dish"
  8. fields smokes a single to the left center gap...cut off nicely by tavares to keep it a single...aj scores
  9. wind is really blowing to left....tulos homer was gone by alot, but the wind helped it, and AJ just served one out there that carried off the top of the fence for a double
  10. bourgouis quickly Ks, and then cabrera lines out to right sox haven't beaten rockies in their last 10 ST appearances...not that it matters just a fun fact thome plunked on a 3-1 pitch..barely nicked his elbow...i think it got the elbow guard...konerko pops up to 2b....
  11. torellaba chops to fields who goes to second for the out...bottom of the inning coming up
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 03:11 PM) I was at a early spring training game where the guy was working on breaking pitches only for an inning. Not one ball over 85 mph was thrown. yeah i know i was just trying to portray that to the others who cant watch it ....i wasnt complaining about pitch selection
  13. ground ball bounces off danks....pauly tries to make the play by flipping it backwards to danks who cant cover in time 2-0..not a good start
  14. danks is working solely with the fastball it looks like....as i say that he throws a change and holliday chops it to third, fields bare hands throws to first and pauly can't pick it....scored a hit and error with the runner going to third
  15. 4 straight balls to helton holliday coming up
  16. tulowitzski yankes an inside fastball gone 1-0
  17. tavares looks at three straight fastballs on the inside corner he gone
  18. QUOTE(almagest @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 02:46 PM) No, the video is pre-set at either 400kb/s or 700. The quality of the video is limited on their side, not yours. That being said, the 400k option is tolerable in a decent-sized window, and the 700k is at least standard tv broadcast quality. game is up and running....only 400 kb/s available for this game tho...
  19. Bah ..Pedro Alvarez out indefinitely with a broken bone in his hand...not good for vandy....maybe good for the white sox and other teams hoping he falls a bit in the draft
  20. http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar...TS0602/80227004 i figure this has to affect his draft stock...well see when and how he comes back...but with a hand injury and potentially signing boras, it isnt out of question that he will be there at 8 for us
  21. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 10:05 AM) By any chance is mlbtv free for ST? I'm interested in purchasing it this year but am not sure. Hows the quality? Also, whats the real difference b/w the regular and the premium. premium looks quite a bit better imo....i mean either way you are watching on a computer, and not an HDTV, but my friends and i think its worth it..i dont think its free during ST but they may have a free game here and there for people to test out, so keep your eyes open....quality overall is way better than it was 5 years ago when i started using it, even on the regular mlbtv
  22. First game thread of the year....i'll be watching on mlbtv Jerry Owens cf Orlando Cabrera ss Jim Thome dh Paul Konerko 1b Jermaine Dye rf A.J. Pierzynski c Josh Fields 3b Juan Uribe 2b Brian Anderson lf John Danks p should be interesting to see how BA plays...not sure who else will get in, young guys i would assume, but id like to see quentin get in there today, but that probably wont happen
  23. Ut rolls into nashville tonight....they are favored by only 2.....we are so tough to beat at home, undefeated there this year, mainly cuz of our goofy court, but i would like to think the students/acoustics (memorial was originally built as a music performaning center) have something to do with it
