Its about 3 and a quarter miles to campus for me and ive been trying to walk at least one way for some exercise in addition to recently starting to hit the gym agian....in the last 3 days ive made 4 legs of that trip and run another 2 miles so im gonna keep a meter going...
  2. is there a reason toby hall hasnt gotten any playing time yet?
  3. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 04:59 PM) here here. Kong now hitting .714 this spring. i believe konerko holds the all time record for highest batting average in a single ST for the sox...maybe all time, not sure....he always tears it in arizona

  5. makes me wonder if stoney will be brought in as hawks replacement at whatever point hawk calls it a day/has a heart attack in the booth
  6. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 09:48 AM) Did you spend a lot of time watching game film on Unitas and Staubach? no, but i never saw babe ruth either....does that mean i cant think hes better than frank thomas whose entire career i saw? frankly i dont see how my age has anything to do with who the better qb was..... and btw i never really watched game film of favre either...sorry, i didnt tape the games and break them down...maybe that means my opinion doesnt count..if thats the case then so be it
  7. QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 09:44 AM) We all have are own opinions on the guy... There isn't anyone that is going to convince me that he wasn't the best ever, but maybe I am biased. i probably am biased too....but i always thought that for one of the greatest qbs of our time while he certainly won his football team alot of games, he also lost his team an awful lot of football games....i mean yes he threw more TDs than anyone else ever did...but he also threw more INTs than anyone else ever did
  8. QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 09:40 AM) to the best ever! he might not even be in the top 10 in no particular order...brady manning bradshaw marino elway montana unitas staubach are/were all better imo
  9. dont we have like 3 threads about this already
  10. can i still join this? i just weighed in at 249...i ran a 4 mile turkey trot and thanksgiving and havent done a damn thing since....which would explain why i was absolutely gassed and had to walk for a few sec in running a mile just now....still i cant believe i declined that fast....anyways...249 now and id like to hit 215 which is 34 lbs...
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 05:28 PM) It made a ton of sense at the time, and don't really blame Kenny for it in the least. The Sox were right in the thick of things in 2006, and needed bullpen help. They got a guy that they thought could help them, and Mac pitched incredibly well in the 2nd half of 2006. They traded Lumdsen who everyone thought was going to the Sox next ace, and a extremely raw pitcher in Cortes. Obviously Cortes have developed, but you can't fault the Sox for taking that risk. If you want to question anything, the extension is where question marks can be raised, but if you dug up that thread, people loved that signing. did i really write at the "team" ....wow im a moron
  12. QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 05:27 PM) According to CBS it's Nate Robertson. 4.76 ERA in 2007. Of course their #3 is Dontrelle (5.17 in 2007) and their #4 is the 62 year old Kenny Rogers. That 3-5 is no better that ours, really. not to mention bonderman was bad last year...they could be in trouble with their pitching....miller was probably gonna be their second best pitcehr behind verlander....but man if verlander goes down taht team could be in real trouble....
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) I guess I'm the only person that thinks Linebrink will stink in the AL and pitching at the Cell. I'll hope for the best, but I don't think the majority of people are optimistic about his future with the Sox. hes been in steady decline the last three years with declining peripherals and is moving from perhaps hte best pitchers park in the league in probably the worst offensive division in baseball to the best hitters park in the AL in a significantly tougher offensive division...so yeah i think hell decline and i certainly didnt like the fact that it was a 4 year deal...but i dont think he will be horrendous...but if i had to guess itll be similar to what we got out of luis vizcaino we are paying alot for the bullpen, but i must admit the macdougal trade i really liked at the team...things just havent worked out so far
  14. macs 2 fastballs have both been straight as an arrow...compared to what he used to throw...both were bp fastballs the three curves he threw were nice though
  15. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 04:56 PM) MMac in....................... 1 pitch 1 double
  16. QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 04:50 PM) what did CQ just do K.....in comes macdougal
  17. QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 04:29 PM) whoever just got into the batters box for us looks just like Willie Harris. haha its john shelby....i think its the dual earflap helmet....ill never forget when willie was wearin it with some shades my buddy goes "willie harris looks like black speed racer" and my god he did....one of those things you had to see to appreciate i think
  18. alexei ramirez (not performance wise, but just build and swing wise) does really looks alot like soriano.....3 RBi triple for him after he nicely takes a pitch away into the oppo gap
  19. QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 04:13 PM) now BA has to move along the guy he's competing with into 3rd base EDIT: and cant back to looking like brian anderson there
  20. QUOTE(Pants Rowland @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 04:09 PM) What happened? At work and no sound on my computer. A little PBP would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. dotel got butler to pop up to 1st in foul territory but eldred dropped it (hawk and DJ said it was the high ST sky, but it still shoulda been caught) dotel then Ks him on a high fastball but armstrong lets it get past.... ground ball easy DP ball to richar...he gives a bad feed to ramirez who has to spin and bobbles the transfer then on a SB armstrong made a great throw and richar didnt get the tag down...another out somewhere... then chopper to fields at third to his right, right on the line...he fakes the throw to first and tries to tag the runner hoping he takes too big of a round around third...didnt work...dotel got out of it anyhow...but no thanks to the D
  21. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 04:07 PM) That was too long of an inning for Dotel. not at all his fault tho...he basically got 5 or 6 outs
  22. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) 2 bad plays by the infield - dopey move by Fields 3 or 4 bad plays...eldred dropped the pop up, armstrong didnt catch the 3rd strike, richar with the bad feed that ramirez still shoulda turned, bad tag by richar....the fields play was alright ...i dont think he had a shot at 1st anyways
  23. despite being in trouble here, dotel looks pretty good
  24. what a play by cole armstrong to get the speedy gathright nice arm
  25. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 06:35 PM) Was there a link to BP? Is it up on their site? And for anyone curious about his contract situation, Ellis will be 31 years old in June, is due $5M in 2008 and will be eligible for free agency following this season. im not a subscriber and the guy admitted it was just one sentence but here is the link...i have no idea what it says, but i just assumed it was in there http://baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=7195
