Everything I've heard about him is good-to-very good.

So is Engelbert, you don't care for crooners? I should have qualified it more. What do you think Mariah versus Joni Mitchell? Btw, I heard the Irvine feller, what a tembre. You know with proliferation of auto-tune like crap (if they can make J-Lo and Nicole Kidman into singers anything is possible) you never know who is the real deal or not if you hadn't heard them live before. He is awesome even if his reportioir is not my cup o' tea, thanks for the heads up. If you have anything to add, feel free to go off on the musical tangent. Very informative.
  5. The speaking for you part, I was only gonna do it a few more times anyway. But I will stop if you want me to stop. Unless you changed your mind and you want me to do it....Your call really.
  6. Ma shlom'cha? Tov ma'od? Ani ratze lalechet eretz momo. Now teach me about baseball, business, cleverity and maybe even a little about gay sex as you promised. If I am interested enough, I might actually reply. You may commence.
  7. Have it your way, Steve. I was only gonna do it a couple more times when you will presumably need my help in deciding which position to take, how to better articulate your views, make a funny, etc.
  8. . I think speak for him when I say he has absolutely no problem with this. Some people deserve to be Mods and others simply do not cut it. I should know, I am one of em. PA is right this is a NON-issue. let it go.
  9. Jesus Stevie, leave PA and Tex alone. They are not ones to abuse power. How can it hurt? If they see a troll, they can lock or delete a thread without bothering Chisoxfn, cwsox, heads, Murcie, etc. who have OTHER things to worry about, you know. Duh. Spiff is a Mod, so he knows it's all good.
  10. I don't think you realize what happened there at all. Whether intentionally or not (probably both), Heather managed to turn on the living f*** out of everyone, so there was a collective tug-the-plait dorky expression of affection, which in turn later spilled over into a rather disgusting free-for-all. Lots of touching. Ew. It was all cwsox and Jasons and Tizzle, and also the fair Apu who hates the idea of Henry-n-Hather. I was innocent as I only chimed in with garden-variety callous sarcasm. Believe it or not I can be a good guy when I am not mean and creepy. Believe me. Redbird is a'it in my book. But the gayCott sig needs to GO. Hope this clears everything up, Mod'f***a.
  11. ...and sometimes the bull loses. Especially in your state.
  12. It must REALLY suck not to be living in the greatest city lie Chicago and especially not knowing, not feeling the TRUE winter....spring....summer.....autumn, how unique and beautiful those seasons can be. Bill Hicks was right...hot and sunny, hot and sunny, hot and sunny...what are you, lizards?
  13. If you think about it, the guy was scapegoated for ONE bad month of his White Sox career. Yes, it was a terrible month, consisting of nothing buts errors, judgement mistakes, baserunning blunders and hitting slumps. He had a good September, March, April and May; his range sucked but so did Robbie's who had to cheap in the hole just to make "spectacular" plays there because he knew he had no chance of doing s*** up the middle.........Then he prodeeded to have a good July-August-Semptember, making it 7 for 8 in "solid" month. And yet I didn't want him to be gone, but to learn bunting and running skills from Robbie and spell him against LHP. At 400K, his talent was worth keeping around. Now at 1.7 Mill? I'll still take him to give Willie and Uribe a kick in the ass.

    Wood Floors

Maybe it's the whole American breakability that's to blame. Carpenter's incompetence maybe. Floors made so you have to replace them all the time. Etc I remember apartments of my childhood and adolescence- they were probably the 1/5th the size of your house, had easily as many parties/people over not only during summers but virtually all year long (adults, kids, pets, furniture rearranging, you know the drill) and still looked GREAT as I remember it. Nothing even remotely close to rotting. I had only seen a few pieces replaced here and there like 1 or 2 times in my entire life. I don't remember anyone complaining about how the floor is not what it used to be before, etc. Then again, it's FLOORS so I doubt if anybody cared as long did was clean and not broken. I guess I absorbed the low-maitanence approach from that time. It's cheaper and less stress-free that way I find. YMMV.

Wow, changing floors like toothpicks....lol What happened to the whole "letting the wood age as to look as if actual people lived in the house" thing? So it gets a couple shades darker over time and couple of scratches here and there, big freakin' deal. [/commonsense]

You don't like Humperdink or Mariah? Tony Bennet? I've always taken Steven Tyler to be the kind of a singer-yeller who induces cringes in classical voice teachers (Kelly Clarkson drives them mad!) and ruins his voice by the time he is 30. What''s wrong with Plant? What about Beach Boys and Paul Mcartney? Better than today's dreck. The universe is almost 20 Billion years old, so all these "old" names from 60s and 70s actually sounded off just a split-second ago and are just as "new" as Charlotte f***ing Church or Eminem.
  19. It looks like rafa bribed a few people at the very last moment. Damn you, Brazilla!
  20. True. But if you count cheapfans as "casual", then White Sox have a LOT of those.
  21. I don't want to insult you....Let's just say that 9 times out of 10 Prior gets out of that infamous inning with no more than 2 runs given up and Cubs make it to the world series. Bartman and Gonzo made him get 6 outs instead of 3. Prior is a rookie and he is already a big-time WINNER. Did you notice how he only gave up 3 runs to Marlins in Game 2 after the Cubs took a 10-0 lead and basically had the game in the bag? When Cubs were stingy with runs against Braves in Game 3, he shut that awesome line-up down COLD in a pivotal game that basically won the series....That's what MONEY pitchers are all about.

Steven Tyler as in Aerosmith Tyler? Technically good? Elvis Costello is a strange choice. Not conventional for sure. Aimme Mann is one of the best songwriters working in the biz IMO. I first heard her work on Magnolia soundtrack. No Robert Plant or Stevie Wonder? I know you like Freddy. I like Engelbert Humperdink Mariah Carey used to have a nice lil voice...lol
  23. Now, be fair: how can you fault BMR for being an attention-craving, thin-skinned paranoid, hypocritical, self-aggrandizing baiter-loser? He was genuinely convinced that jealous Jim and his crew made it their mission to "get him", the freedom of speech martyr. Just as you don't blame a schitzo or Tourette's for his woe, you simply have to feel sorry for BMR getting a short end of DNA strand. He can't help it, the poor sod, it's in his nature.

Ok, FlaSoxxJim, I see you can handle the drum and electric guitar questions with relative ease. Now we turn to vocals....20 favorite in no particular order with honorable mentions if you wish.....Doesn't matter the genre, from rap to opera. 20th century. (It better have Mario Lanza....just kidding) If you don't feel like it, I understand.
  25. You sound surprised? The Ugly momo is totally useless and should go away already.
