  1. Say wha na? -Robbie is only one of the top 5 defensive 2B of ALL time -Robbie is only one of the most EFFICIENT baserunners of ALL time. -Robbie is only a career 820 OPS player, even including s***ty 2002-2003. Five seasons with 890 OPS or higher. -One of the best bunters of his generation. Doesn't strike out much either. -Two WS rings. ALCS appearances with 3 different teams. (And no, he wasn't all that while with the Sox. Just a notch above mediocre. Such is life: Cleveland gets 3 fantastic seasons from him while Mets and Sox, perennial losers, get him totally washed up. Oh well.)

    Hmmm

No s***! Way back I wanted to PM somebody about transparent "Laura" Roman, but didn't give enough s*** at the time so I didn't. Should have, tho. BTW, now that I think about it, if Roman (or any one of the trio) is ever re-instated, it would be a giant "f*** you!" to a lot of regular posters here,a spit in the face of what SoxTalk stands for. Since I am no longer a "regular" I shouldn't care, but I do.
  3. Ok, so those of us who were LAUGHING while the 3/18 INCLUDING deferred/insentives-laden "offer" was being discussed were right afterall. Like I said, it would have cost the Sox 23-25 Mill to get him and as Steff and few others predicted, Siddie's heart lies with Baltimore-- hence the "discount". Anything over 20/3 for Frayed Labrum Wonder would have been a high-way robbery. Let's see what younger Rauch can do at 300K. Case closed.
  4. I don't know (or care) if it's the *OFFICIAL* predictions thread.......But allow me to re-iterate: 2004 Sox wins: 93 2004 Sox losses: 69 Place in ALC: 1st (2004 Cub wins: hopefully not many. )
  5. Preach on, mister, preach f***in' AWWWN! Sox = Hero Cubs = loathsome villain Anti-antiCubniks = mucho boring :fthecubs- that is all.

    Later y'all

No, probably done for good-- just too much stuff going on at once you wouldn't believe....and I wasn't supposed to be back from the "break" in the first place anyway, just kinda happened that way. Then again, who knows what the future holds really. I hope to at least have time to browse for Sox updates (hear we signed a set-up man? lolol) and stuff, like once a week maybe. Kinda like now.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Checks be in the mail. Aw shucks, I forgot BEGOOD, you da man! Everybody loves you here cuz you're refreshingly GENUINE and upbeat and I am no exception. Don't ever change, bro.
  8. Damn I completely forgot....I know this is from late '03, but still: Ncorgbl (to Elton John's piano):

Thanks for putting up with my tantrums and eccentricities, and allowing me to share my passion/fetish for Sox/other things with. Thanks for challenging me to (re)think and for inspiring me often. Finally, thanks for making me choke with laughter (you owe me keyboards and wooden chairs, people). Jason, Vince, Mike, Steff, Big Jim, Little Jim, Alex, Rex, Neil, Heather, Larry, Soxy, Fo14, Wino, Critic and of course that precocious kid witesoxfan....Keep on rockin’ this place. Brando/D.
  10. Maybe you're right. Chicago = best f***ing city in the universe.
  11. Jose IS better than Aurillia if and only if he sticks to the lessons Santana taught him defensively last year and starts hitting LH exclusively (I reckon 650 OPS against LHP is wholalot better than 350 OPS from RH). Oh and if he hits with RISP like he did in 2000-2002 and not 2003.
  12. Jason, cool idea. Here's to some insane-ass battles!
  13. Of course. I should have added in Palestine vs Israel thread that there is NO Magical Sox Fan either.
  14. But you must admit DHS does have some opinionated-ass window cleaners. Makes a lot of sense. Which is precisely why it will be fumbled.
  15. In terms of production, given the limited impact a player can make on a baseball team no matter how good and that s***ty line-up protection (read: he got nothing to hit) he had on the Cubs, Sosa's 1998-2001 numbers place much closer to Jordan than to Rodman. Sosa in RF. Maggs in LF. Carlos at 1B....Hurt....that's the ticket. And Herm would have keep him off the roids? You buy into the myth that no one on the Sox is on the juice?
  16. I knew you would do it as soon as I pressed 'add reply'...BASTARDO!!!
  17. There is no such thing as a Magical Negro. There is no such thing as a Magical Homo. There is no hooker with a heart of gold. Likewise, there is NO such thing as a Magical Jew/Israeli/Zionist....NOT in politics or military anyway. Don't expect much goodwill let alone altruistic sacrifize from Israel's side. Safety and security first. Palestinian state, economy and quality of life (as much as the former 2 seemingly dependant on the latter 3) are all a VERY DISTANT second. Unfortunately, both sides are stupid and greedy as it gets. The rest is just a technicality. But then again you already knew all that, didn't you winodj?
  18. Whether particularly insightful, passionate, funny or plain cute....If you feel a Pale Hose post or an excerpt deserves a special mention, POST IT HERE. Texsox in "This is BS" thread: SpringfieldFan in "White Sox a Visual History" thread: cwsox in a thread I don't remember: It's time we give our best and brightest a HOLLA. (And remember: it's not the size of the post, but the quality it boast.)
  19. Goethe had no way of knowing what would happen if Cubs win the World Series before the Sox do.....The kind of produciton he gave in 2000 and 2001, with Thomas and Maggs and Lee and Valentin protecting him, we score 1000 runs and storm through the playoffs all the way to the World Series. And I detest Shamy.

  22. This "scout report" tells us nothing that we didn't already now from watching the guy a few times on TV: --Good speed, however intincts need polishing (slow Jose will talk to him) --Can bunt (which would make him only a 4th Sox player who can actually do it. Olivo, Jose and Rowand are the other) --Can already hit lefties well (and has potential to hit righties as well but swing not fluid enough and SZ judgementinadequate). --Gold Glove-caliber defensive tools. (Then again Valentin has been riding his unfullfilled potential for 12 seasons, so it's far from money in the bank) --Early stage of D'Angelo Syndrom. Reasonable chances of recovery.
