Spiff, I just returned from the club, it's 2:30 am CT.....tired and sleepy and sore as hell.....but even if I wasn't, I'd still take a coward's way out and refrain from getting involved in something as potentially combustible as what you guys appear to have going here. Sorry no opinion. I am more about dissing 50-ty anyway.

Clarification: medium risk part refers to the fact that if he is found to be healthy (he won't be) and Sox somehow get the first crack at him (we won't), he is not gonna cost 1 Mill in signing bonus ala Mr. Zeroes....But the very high reward part is self-explanatory. And if he is not healthy, he is worthless. Barcelo 2.0 + bad back.

Oooh, I see I am late to the party..... PLEASE.......there is NOTHING even remotely hardcore about getting shot, whether once or nince....Wake up to some facts: --Had one of the medium caliber bullets been more centered, it would have severed his spine, instantly and irrepairably paralyzing Fee'ty. Limp dick time! --Had it one of the bullets pieced his heart, he would be DEAD. --Had one of them been a few inches higher, it would have destoyed vital structures in Fee'ty's brain, making him a poster child for DOA. Fee'ty simply won the lottery of survival, that's al it wasl. Had NOTHING to do with him and everything to do with fantastic LUCK. The only "cred" it should net him is something to pay the 5 bodyguards with, wink-wink. And I love it when Shug Knight and Co. act as though they are somehow more-than-mortal......Yeah, sure Suge, when a few years from now multiple close-range bullets are simulteneously burning through your fat flesh, you be sure to tell them, the deeper the voice the better, that you're real hard-core and as such they should cease at once, or at the very least not do as much damage.....Good luck with that.

Jason, at this point this sorry franchise needs ANY infusion of talent/national buzz it can get. Right now we are short on both. Mr. Zeroes was the first step in the right direction. Low risk/high reward. Now M-Rod is a medium risk/very high reward.....I say give him a physical and sign him for Mr. Zeroes mony or sometihng within reason. The lack of demand works in our favor. Then pray he is healthy enough to be your closer/set-up type pitcher to give Koch and Pollite run for their money.

Does this mean the proverbial door has been opened just wide enough for Clark to stick his wrist in? Now blow it off the hinges!

Hey Tex...Mr. DoD Agent Man no eva frazzle, no sir-- he's got chunks of guys like us in his stool. It was, like, in the memo. Don't piss him off too much cuz it can't end too good.

Oh I was never here as part any "free time". I wish. But lately (ok, since June with a christmas break interruption) even the usual multi-tasking of which Soxtalk is a proud part, has become almost impossible-- too much research, then all that workshop s*** and....well, hopefully you'll see it for yourself pretty soon. Yesternight's thread, tho, further reminded me what I am missing.

Keys for my Andre having a prayer against Leyton McPunko and David Nabahldian, let alone artiste Federer and Mr. Mandy Moore bastard, are as follows: --Unforced errors to winners ratio: at least 2-1 --1st Serve %: at least 65 % --Crisp back-hander (in his lossi to Coria at FO and Ferrero at USO couldn't hit for s*** from that side) --Big points: when your opponent is on the ropes at break point...CONVERT IT, at least 40% of the time. --Defense: last year Andre was way TOO susceptible to counter-attacks, getting caught flat-footed in the middle court-- a player whose career was build on base-line prowess not being able to play tough defense is akin to a power pitcher losing mid-90's fastball.... --Serve returns: for someone who's worn the title of "Best Returner of All Time", Andre sure as hell looked pitiful, even on SECOND serves in his lossi to Coria and Ferrero. I mean, if you have your opponent down 15-40 and his 2nd serve is in the middle of the quadrant...KILL IT!!! If you can't do that, you might as well retire..... --The shorter the match the better. 3+ hour affairs are for young'ins. Agassi wants to have it both ways: play a remarkably UNCLEAN tennis (many unforced errors, choking on big points) all the while NOT taking any risks (lack of winners) in power exhanges, which used to be such an ingteral part of his success in the past. This bulls*** Zen approach of "methodically" grinding at his much younger opponents just flatout does NOT work: Andre might be fit for his age (34 in tennis is equivalent to 39 in basketball), but his LEGS cannot handle LONG exchanges and at this point, especially against premiere youngsters, and failure to get out to an early 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 set advantage can not help but lead to inevitable LOSS. What Agassi should do is play a powerful and morale-debilitating tennis from the get go and force Roddick and Co play catch up and out-unforced error you.....That's the ONLY chance Andre has, really. Amen.

I may be speraking out of turn here, but may I remind you all that the following are raditionallyconsidered to be DEAD seasons in the Industry when all sorts of derivative, oft-delayed clankers are being foisted on the gullible public: --January through mid-February --Mid-August through September Disclaimer: when it comes to real sucky flix and their seasonal release trend, there is small minority of movie buffs that subscribes to Mark Twain's famous breakdown of riskiest months for stock market trading....only in reverse order.

Yeah, I hear they close two of the 3 cineplexes over along with the K-Mart a few years back and now off with the Dominks on Pratt. Melting pot is right. I was one of the "ingredients" myself.

Fair enough...... And do you also solemnly promise to be Voodoo's b**** from here on out? It's very important if you want to be in the circle of trust.
