  1. I believe periodical dirty bomb explotions in DT Manhatten we are almost certain to experience in the next 10-15 years are gonna guarantee our "involvement" in that volatile part of the globe for MANY years to come. Oil or not.
  2. I believe he is the highest paid sports radio personality in the midwest. Pussification of America my ass. You know who is good? Dan f***ing Berstein absolutely KILLS when he is on. What a stud. Terry Boers, a former newspaperman, has a wealth of dirt on EVERYBODY, but he has to keep his caustic act at bay cause they would get sued in a second....Probanly the only radio I listen to as am not a big fan of the medium.
  3. So yeah, we over-paid, but it could've been worse-- KOCK, White, Konerko, Navarro, Clayton, Parque, etc.
  4. Jimenez-esque baserunning instincts. Fielding? Possibly even worse than either Graffanino or Jimenez. Hitting? No way to tell at this point. Could be 650 OPS, could be 750. Aginst lefties, he's more than passable. He is also young, Colorado made him learn at the bigs, idiots. I like him platooning with Willie Harris and pushing each other.
  5. Jimenez was a terrible defensive 2B (let alone SS) while Uribe is considered a truly gifted if mental lapse-prone defensive SS. World of a difference, right there. Jimenez was one of the stupidest baserunners in the game, while Uribe is very efficient even if not exactly speedy. Jimenez couldn't bunt. Uribe can. Offensively, Jimenez was much better versus RHP, but Uribe is still improving and already hits lefties pretty well. His success against righties will largely determine whether he is a steal or not. And if Willie starts hitting righties (I believe he will be a revelation next season), Uribe will be a nice platoon player who makes next to nothing.
  6. With the way our payroll situ is unfolding, there is hardly a player we can afford to pay 5 Mill to.....save for Loaiza, Maggs, Lee and Hurt of course. Still, if you thought Jose's value topped out at 1-1.5 Mill, you were out of your mind. Lets see: improved (thanks to Santana can now be considered mediocre) defense + good overall baserunning + at least 800 OPS offense if he ever decides to hit LH exclusively == worthless? Can bunt too if I recall, tho not as proficent as Robbie, few players are. Secondary numbers? Was not clutch in 2003 by any means, but his 4-year average with RISP while with the Sox is STILL over .300, including almost 350 with bases loaded. Kills the Cubs. Kills the Royals. Thrives on Twins, tho not as much as the first two. The latter two will be our main opponents in 2003, so every game against them counts as two naturally... And let's face it, is one of the few if not onlyveterans on this team with fire and actual clubhouse personality. Counts for something, sometimes.
  7. Don't count on it. Jose is not going anywhere, shouldn't've paid him in the first place. As long as he hits LH exclusively, no biggie. Uribe would bring similar speed and bunting ability to Robbie, will be a terrific defensive 2B and at least a 750 OPS player (which Robbie hasnt been in 2 years now) versus lefties. You can give Willie RHP duty. All at tenth of what Robbie will be asking.
  8. I believe it's the trade that was gonna blow our minds Hawk alluded to in July.
  9. Its SOLDIER FIELD....not soldiers'.....nor soldier's...nor soldiers, either. 1. It's the way they used to name things bacl when it was built 2. It's called symbolism. 3. Noun 'soldier' acquires properties of adjective. Just like you wouldn't say "beauty's object" but "beautiful object", you don't f***ing say soldier's field if you absolutely must use singular.
  10. Shall we agree to disagree then, mate?
  11. I like the middle one on the right.
  12. CW, if I didn't know any better, I'd think you were a Rabbie, not Rev. Lovejoy.
  13. Wake me when Thandie Newton and Emily Rossum release a, um, joint project. Hell, I'll settle for Angelina Jolie and Mandy Moore.
  14. How come people get their knickers in a twist over small inconveniences inherent in Political Correctness.....all the while completely ignoring the decades of social progress and mountains of good will PC originates from? Forrest for the trees much? There are other problems out there more worthy of righteous outrage IMO.

    Palahniuk's book?
  16. No, no "status button". Only the cool kids whose daddies took bribes and stole wholesale from their own people had em.
  17. Monkeys may be dumb, but at least they are not DANGEROUS-- when was the last time they had an almost apocalyptic missile crisis?
  18. Damn, a brotha got pretty roughed up.
  19. You still #1 in molesting aliens per capita.
  20. Yeah, he usually runs a tight ship in the studio. No-nonsense guy.
  21. I guess it's just me, and I am being weird, but I thought more people would appreciate the wall of sound polish.
  22. A plastic watch I had as a kid kept the time just great. It didn't cost thousands, though. At least I don't think it did.

    Led Zeppelin

I don't get my music from lame radio DJs, PERIOD. I drive the car in total silence when not fooling around with my friends. Yep. I actually heard the (bastardized) name be thrown around by older kids since I was a kid, but that's not "knowing" them, is it? 21 No, I am here since 1998.
  24. I beg to differ. Referring to one's reproductive anatomy by its proper name should only reserved to medical professionals. They're ugly-sounding. .
  25. Don't lump them together. They are both ugly as sin, but Putin is HIGHLY intelligent, a keen political mind, a charismatic manipulator of the people. Plus, as a black belt in tziudo, he'd kick Debya's ass, even tho he is a tiny man.
