Fine, 3 Mill is obviously unreachable. How about 2.4 Mill...how many wins would it take to draw that much THIS year? Would 100 games do it?

I am also "worried" about AIDS epidemic in Africa. I do not have AIDS (yet). Nor am I from Africa. Ya dig?

Fred Willard and Eugene Levy have been quitly excellent for a long-ass time.

Not sure if I buy this, not the 1 Mill figure anyway.....but.....f***ing bastards, betrayed the team over what ultimately amounted to owners trying to keep salaries (and by extention ticket/concession prices) from escalating to insane levels. 500K? Try 1.1 Mill. You make good points, JAUGGS. Especially the

Garret Anderson has been my favorite non-Sox player in the last 3 years. Him and Bobby Abreu have been underrated for a while now.

How come Dodger, Angel, Giant, Cub, Mets, Red Sox, Cardinal, Rockies, Ranger, D-Back, Oriole fans don't b**** about the winning tradition or the average ticket price/parking/commute/schedule/weather/game-time.......and instead pack the ballpark on a frequent basis? Winning? Sox were winning big-time in 2000. Couldn't draw flies without promotions - and that with some of the cheapest tickets in the MLB. Were winning in the second half of 2003 as well, and couldn't even average 25K on non-promotional days in that span. That's little over half of the old capacity. One can lie to himself and timidly spin it anyway one pleases, but the NUMBERS do not lie. Sox could win 100 games this year and they STILL wouldn't dent 2.5 Mill. Could it be that many Sox fans of the New Generation are simply too cheap, too demanding, too grudge-holdy and/or are not loyal enough? Or is it that there are simply not that many of them out there anymore? Tex says it would take a generation to turn the tide.....Go tell that to JR and his investors. So again....WHAT will it take to draw 3 Mill at USCF in 2004-2005? Yep...thought so.

Great job, YASNY. Clear and on-the-money.

Talking attendance again? What, are you a Commie Cub fan? By which I mean....Amen.

Agreed. I do not care what he is worth to the Yankees; may they shell out 50 Mill a year for him for all I care. To the WHITE SOX, he is not worth 14-15 over 5 years. The guy was producing runs in 1998 and 2001 at an incredible rate, and unlike Manny Ramirez, he didn't have Jim Thome, Alomar, Lofton, Williams, Giles or Sexton. Maybe not the "greatest Cub" (whatever the f*** that means), but in the 1998 through 2001 period, he brought a TON of money to the Cubs and made a TON of casual/Sammy fans throughout the country and overseas. That should count for something (read: a lot) when evaluating a player's "worth"

That's why always specify that Ruth was the greatest player of the first half of 20th century and Bonds -- second. Of course, if Roid allegations are proven true, then invalidates everything Bonds has done in the last 5 years. But until then, he is the greatest hitter of our generation at the very least.

Yeah, it's pathetic, really. Red rung up with bases loaded on the same exact pitch Walker receives a walk and prolonges the inning for Patterson to come through with a 2-run hit with 2 outs. :puke

When you can't refute s***, what's a girl to do but to eye-roll? Welcome to Ee-k-nor.

First of all, Lee is going to be making 9 Mill next year. Jim Edmonds is making 9 Mill, just to give you a little comparison. His value would be cut as a 1B -- it's an offense-loaded position and he would be brutal in the field while he learns it. Secondly, Odalis Perez is clearly breaking out. I would do the swap in a second -- it would push Wright out of rotation and make Garland and Show one of the best #4 and #5 pitchers in AL. With the remaining 3 Mill saved on the deal (and some prospects of course), I would try to get either a Palmeiro-type bat at the deadline or a big closer. Then Reiny opens up the wallet at said deadline and gets the Sox a Brown-type ace at a prorated cost (and some more prospects), thus pushing Perez to a more suitable #4 spot, with Show as a long relief lefty. We're set for the playoffs.

No kidding. Thanks Kenny.

Tough call?! WTF.... Bartolo is a 32yo, overweight, near-4.00 ERA pitcher away from weak-hitting ALC. He is not worth 10 Mill, let alone 14. Last year you saw why.

Yo Manos.....maybe skipping winter leagues when you're 34 is a GOOD idea, afterall... What an idiot. :headshake

That Cowbell sketch, when Kattan rips "Gene"s shirt and Fallon goes into his heavy giggles mode, Ferrel breaks down himself and has to turn around to compose himself while giving Jimmy this knowing look. Even the gaffes are hilarious. Ferrel Stewart Hicks Trinity of Awesomeness.

Boring? What about Raquel Welch riding the sharks with laser beams to defeat a Nazi submarine fleet? That part was just awesome. I do think The Sweet Hereafter is a better movie, though.
-
It's all about the damn cowbell. Ferrel and O'Teri/Poehler = reason to watch SNL in last 4 years.

What the hell are you talking about?

Eye popi...!

The worst part is that they're doin' it with guys like Rivas, Guzman, Ford, Restovic, Ford, Offerman, Blanco and Cuddayer. Their comebacks against the Tribe were ridiculous. Soon enough, they're gonna hit the wall -- even Santana ain't all that anymore.
-
The only thing I would change is changing Maggs to 930 OPS and Sosa to 990 -- with Alou, Ramirez and Lee, he should have a nice line-up protection for once. Also, Sammy will be 36 later this year. And you're absolutely right about Sammy's vastly superior off-field value. Hell, Cubs outdraw team on the ROAD -- and a lot of it originated with Sammy in 98. Finally people point to Sosa's 17 Mill per....Guess what? He signed it back in 2001, coming off a fantastic year; the market was VERY generous back then too, which is no longer the case. So the figure is misleading.

Are you sure about Delgado? I remember last year, he had an insane amount of RBI in the first half.
