Yikes, hopefully Beckham's ok. That had a nasty pop sound to it.
I think it may have hit the visor on his helmet. Anyway, I want a ball buried in a Twins player's ribs either later tonight or tomorrow. I hate that team.

feels like the universe is out of whack when the twins play like this.
Feels like all is right with the universe to me!

Ozzie Guillen says he'll want a contract extension from White Sox this off-season. He's signed through 2012.

Guillen: "One thing I make clear, I don't think I'll be back here for 1 year contract, and not know about the next year."

So Ozzie is saying he won't honor his contract next season unless they extend him for another year - so he could refuse to honor his contract that year unless they give him another.
Just go away, Ozzie. You don't want to be here and we don't want you either.

He'll finish with .500 avg, 30 HR, 100 RBI, MVP, RoY, and be awarded a funny hat.
What, no shaving cream pie???

CQ is going to the DL. Viciedo is finally getting the call.
Better late than never, I guess. Wouldn't it be awesome if Viciedo somehow carried this team to the playoffs? Just dreaming.....

If we win this series and detroit loses theirs, I'll be back on board, until then, I'm done.
The best Sox can do is split the series.
QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Aug 21, 2011 -> 08:23 PM)
Just heard he is out until at least Friday, that means he should go to the DL...........
Yes, they should just DL him and bring up Viciedo. They can't afford to play shorthanded for a week and then count on CQ being 100% as soon as he is able to play again. And if he doesn't heal up as soon as they think, that's even more days wasted with a short roster.

Beckham cab be salvaged, he 's still young
If he can earn more playing time by doing a good job off the bench next year, more power to him and even better for the Sox. But to pencil him in as the starting 2B after what he's shown so far would be a mistake. Get a decent second baseman to start next year and count on Beckham to take Omar's role. He'd be a nice guy to have on the bench backing up the three IF positions.
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 20, 2011 -> 09:10 PM)
Lillibridge already has that role, probably.
Beckham has to start and he has to hit next year. We can't afford to give up on him just yet, or this franchise is in even more serious trouble than it looks.
Hopefully a new hitting coach will help him break through.
Lillibridge fills the role of backup at all three OF positions, 1B and emrgency at 2B SS & 3B. Next year he'll keep the same role he has this year. Beckham should take Omar's current role.
Let Rios, Beckham and Dunn fight to re-earn their starting roles next season. Rios can battle De Aza for CF with the other being the fourth OFer/DH/PH. It may look something like this:
1B Konerko
2B New Guy
3B Morel
SS Ramirez
LF Quentin
CF De Aza
RF Viciedo
C Pierzynski
DH Dunn/Quentin (if Rios wins starting job)
Bench:
Lillibridge
Beckham
Rios
