  1. Nice job by our fourth outfielder!
  2. Even if Lillibridge doesn't hit, he still outproduces Pierre simply on defense alone.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 09:02 PM) I'm not convinced De Aza would make much of a difference, but Viciedo in LF/RF and having Hudson back and we'd be a lot more competitive. I think a Lillibridge/De Aza platoon in CF would have produced more than Rios has so far this season, and Viciedo would have vastly outperformed Pierre of course. But dealing with what they have now, I would replace Pierre on the roster with Viciedo, start CQ, Lillibridge, and Tank in the OF and use Rios as a fourth outfielder/late inning defensive replacement. If any of the OFers got injured or if Lillibridge became over-exposed, Rios can win back his starting position if he performs well enough as a role player. It just may be exactly what he needs.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 08:55 PM) Baseball salaries are ridiculous. Alex Rios will be paid more this year than Carlton Fisk made his entire 24 year career. Rios would make a pretty good fourth outfielder. That's a pretty expensive fourth outfielder, but the cost is sunk anyway so might as well pay him for the role he is suited for. How much better would the Sox be this season if Viciedo and De Aza were on the 25 man roster in place of Pierre and Rios?
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 11:35 AM) I still hold out hope for Beckham but I wish they could send him to AAA for the year and let him work some s*** out. Just to get him away from Walker.
  6. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 02:29 AM) I don't mind Morel in the #2 hole, at least he puts the ball into play.. in fact, if it was permanently Morel at #2 and Alexei at #5 I would like that a hell of a lot more than seeing AJ come up to bat 5th I agree. I like giving Morel a chance in the two hole because he does consistently make contact and hits the ball to the right side. Alexei needs to be in an RBI position with the current personnel in the lineup. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 02:30 AM) Oh, and I am also pretty sure I despise Beckham more than Pierre at this point.. that dude has been a major disappointment I expected Beckham to be a solid player - sort of a Tadahito Iguchi of '05 type. Now I doubt he will ever be that good.
  7. If Ozzie had any brains and/or Kenny had any balls, Viciedo would be starting in the OF for the Sox by now.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 11:27 PM) I can't think of a time since I became a baseball fan that I've been less excited about this Cubs series than in 2011. I think spring training and mid-season Cubs/Sox exhibition games were even more exciting in the 80's and 90's. Let's call the Doug Davis shutout on WED and just skip that game thread. Cubs will sweep 'em.
  9. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 11:02 PM) I've been resisting, but I now am starting to believe my beloved white sox are about to wander in the desert for a few years. I hope Rick has a say in who gets traded and for what. A big say. Rick Hahn? The guy who was quoted as saying "This guy can really play some Center Field" when the Sox acquired Rob Mackowiak? That Rick???
  10. As one of KW's biggest supporters and defenders over the years here (I don't think I ever even posted a negative thought regarding him), I'd like to say a big "f*** YOU Kenny!" We're watching this impotent offense night after night while stiffs like Pierre and Rios are trotted out there night after night and KW can't even bring Viciedo up from Charlotte because our moronic asshole of a manager can't figure out where to play him! They can't give Viciedo a chance yet Beckham can continue to stink the place up with his ridiculous swing and Rios can stink the place up with his ridiculous batting stance while Greg Walker is given another vote of confidence. And Juan Pierre can suck on offense, suck on defense, and suck on the basepaths yet lead off every game night after night. f*** JR, KW, Ozzie and the rest. I'll laugh at them when the Cubs sweep the Sox at the Cell in front of nightly crowds of 25,000 next week.
  11. The Sox should kick the Twins asses all over Target Field. Sweep these bums!
  12. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 12:59 PM) I didn't see AJ looking to the dugout, but I clearly remember telling my buddy that it was obvious that Santos had nothing and he needed to be replaced by anyone when he loaded the bases. Yeah, AJ gestured with his hands way out as if he were saying "WTF?"
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) So Peavy tried to pitch through the pain after the botched double play, and the result was he gave us no chance to win the game....AWESOME! That's not called being a grinder, that's called being stupid. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,1007957.story What an asshole.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) I'd trade him for Zambrano in a heartbeat, but Cubs would never do that. I agree.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 06:57 PM) You know he'll try to return a week earlier than expected, numerous people will praise him for being a fighter, and then he'll probably change up his mechanics to compensate for the groin strain and he'll aggravate something in his shoulder. He reminds me of a professional wrestler with all these freak injuries. I saw where he said he tweaked it in Boston. Well, I'm sure glad he spoke up and said something. Of course, as soon as he gets bombed by the Tigers in the 4th, he complains about it. Trade him for Zambrano. Throw in Rios and Dunn for good measure.
  16. QUOTE (bulokis @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 11:13 AM) Play lillibombs everyday while he is hot. Yep.
  17. Dunn should be batting last.
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 03:19 PM) Dunn some things stay the same QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) Dunn is back to earth. After getting that walk he just has to strike out to let us know he is mortal after all Isn't this the guy that those two morons on the radio (B&B) had a hard on for??? LOL! Shows how baseball retarded those two are. And his career numbers, especially his batting average as a whole and his BA with RISP show why it's not wise for him to be batting third in your lineup even when he's hitting as he normally does. Let's just hope he reverts to his career norms and Ozzie has the brains to keep him at 5 or 6 in the order if/when he does.
  19. Pierre LF Ramirez SS Quentin RF Konerko 1B Pierzynski C Rios CF Dunn DH Beckham 2B Morel 3B Humber P
  20. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ May 29, 2011 -> 09:06 PM) ok so since most people say ozzie should be gone, are there even any better options out there? who should the sox replace him with? joey cora? some no name like quade? thats all i want to know;who Joe Torre.
  21. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 29, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) I hate the pissing match that always arises when people starting arguing over who deserves to be fired more between KW and Ozzie. The results are there for anyone to see, and neither one of them should be safe. I don't care who goes first. The fact is that one of them needs to go very soon. Ozzie definitely should go first. KW at least deserves a shot at bringing someone else in to see if he can salvage the season after spending so much to put this roster on the field.
  22. Why should JR care what White sox fans think? After all, these are the people that urinate on statues and don't appreciate 2005 according to Ozzie. And I'm sure JR values Ozzie much more than he values his paying customers.
  23. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 29, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) Sign Manny again when suspension expires. He was a better DH for the Sox than Dunn has been so far anyway.
