I think Rodon will need more time off than a 6 man rotation to save innings for the post season. It will just depend how the next 2 months plays out. He has pitched more this year consistently than he ever has. Odds are he will go through a dead arm period.
-
That is a decision next year. Do they treat him like Kopech this year or send him down to stretch out . Either way he should be in the 100-120 range next year.

I would agree with Bummer. In the early high leverage situations a better pitcher should be there. I would save Hendricks though. It's not so much for the save stat as it is the mentality. -

Agreed. Just different people approach it differently. I disagree with your approach But it's fine. The ninth inning in a win is always the highest leverage as it been shown time and again that many good pitchers don't have the mentality for it. It takes a special mindset to do it in a regular basis. -

Agreed. The last couple I've been to the experience is great. Once the park is full I'll probably have to wait in lines though. -

People who rely on stats such WAR, wRC+, etc. do it all the time. They are more worried about predictive stats as opposed to actual performance. -
This is very subjective though. What the sox people thought and what the Texas people thought could be 2 very different things. And we will never know what anyone actually truly thought about him as its never made public. So essentially by your definition, trades can't be evaluated.

They are just lengthening the time to keep his innings down. I will not be surprised if he and crochet have other muscle injuries to give them more time off. Rodon is the curious one. As it stands he will not be able to pitch in the post season. They will need to find time off for him as the season progresses. I still think the plan with him was to pitch him until August or so then let Kopech take his spot in the rotation. However, no one expected him to pitch this well so the plan may need to change.

MLB broadcasters are looking for answers

If it is a cost cutting move by JR, why are the radio guys traveling. They are Sox employees too. If this is the reason then they would all be broadcasting from the park. -

Dead Wings he won rings there. -
In other words, we think we have a good shot at the playoffs and want to limit his innings so he can pitch in the postseason.

The issue is with how many pitches he had already. Might as well use him as it's a full days work. -
I don't think there should be an artificial cap though. If they really want to go to a school that's going to charge that, so be it. There are plenty of affordable schools they can go to. As you said start off at JUCO then go to a directional school. Northern, Southern. Or better yet go to a border state school where they give Illinois students breaks. It can be done they just need to actually look, instead of going to the high priced one.

Wait. Other managers besides TLR play the lefty-righty matchup against starters? I hope the fan base ridicules him for it. -
Not sure where those PT stats came from but they aren't realistic in the last year. No one is getting that now. We are getting ready for a massive down turn and our graduates are having trouble finding jobs.
-
That's an awful lot of work for very fluid situations. Maybe that's where these graduates can work!

Depends on the tone. I've never seen a player laugh so hard when a fan yelled "you aren't even as good as Parker brothers" to Milton Bradley. And he was a known nutcase. -
There is no such thing as a useless degree. It will come into use either in life in other ways or help them in their employment later. Part of the problem is the expectations of the graduate. My daughter has many friends who have been offered Jon's but don't feel that they should settle for anything less than 60,000 per year in salary. However those jobs need 5 years of experience. They've been sold the idea that college means there is no starting at entry level. Expectations are a little out of wack.

The issue with this is you have no idea what their probable income will be. Majors change. Many are looking to grad school for something different. Apply for the loan based on what they think they can do would be fruitless for most until the last year or two.

He is against lefties, whom he hits very well. Not so much against righties so he is moved down. -
The only issue with starting at a juvo is the relative lack of options compared to a larger school. Other than that its a great way to start and decrease the cost. If they went to counseling and still decided to go into 100,000 dollars in debt, there isn't much you can do. They took the loan. Tying the amount you pay relative to your income is good. But not the cost of the school dependent on the relative income.

I'm on the border of boomers and gen x. However my college experience isn't what I use for this case. It's the 25 years of academia and seeing what the students go through. Not everyone needs to go to a 4 year university. Trade schools are fine if all you are looking for is a career. This is where the divide should be and where the choice is. Too many people go to college just to go to college. Now the majority of students change their major while there anyway so their needs to be a somewhat of a plan for a career but that isn't the only choice. I think the answer truly needs to be financial counseling for affordable schooling. Whether it's the government or the school. A layout of the debt needs to be discussed ahead of time. This will the student and guardians an idea of what they are truly in for. If they then choose the school it's up to them.

When you look at sample size and power, most season stats do not show good predictive value until around 145 games in a season.
