  1. The important comment is that he is not going to treat the pitchers differently this year because nobody knows.
  2. According to an article on cbssports acouple of days ago, Katz said he is planning on treating all of his pitchers as if 2020 were a normal year because no one knows what the effect may be. This includes Rodon. This has me concerned about what the Sox starters will look like in the playoffs. They already have thrown more innings than most starting staffs. I think Katz may be a little short sighted here.
  3. If you want to go all pessimistic he could be like Madrigal he could need surgery and be out 3-5 months.
  4. Nothing really for the Sox. Says they could use a 2B. Adam Frazier and Javier Baez are possible targets.

Not uncommon for HS pitchers in their first full professional season. The increased workload and finding a professional routine is tough on them.
  6. Yep. A decreased load. But he shouldn't come back and not be able to play catcher.
  7. I agree. I don't think they will bring him back until he is ready to catch.
  8. For the record that is far above what it should be?
  9. Ouch, 3 months or so for that.
  10. Probably a good idea
  11. No kidding. This team should not have the record is does with all of the players missing. They had 2 maybe 3 players from the expecting starters for the season playing.
  12. I agree. He brings that to the table and no one else does. Either Sheets or Lamb does as well for LH power.
  13. Not if he starts games. Hamilton has a role where he excels the others do not.
  14. Because the last guy on the bench is a role player. His role is defensive replacement and pinch runner when they need that 1 run. He excels at those. Once Jimenez and Robert return that last person will not start much. The OF starters will be Robert Jimenez, Vaughn and Engel. The LH off the bench will be Sheets. No room for Goodwin is not good in the OF.
  15. Hamilton will stay as the defensive specialist.
  16. Great news. Far earlier than I thought when they diagnosed a grade 3 tear.
  17. They are available today. The decision not to bring them in was not because they pitched yesterday.
  18. Both are available today. They didn't burn them for today. If they go today, then maybe tomorrow.
  19. Lynn has 70 pitches with no runs. He wasn't going to come out. The relievers going yesterday has no bearing on that outcome.
  20. Definitely mediocre. I'm saying the slider and change combo will make him a decent 4-5 starter. It's decent stuff.
  21. It a good slider.
