NFL 2021 offseason thread
But they received one first round pick (the one they used to draft Fields) so net they only traded one. To be accurate they traded this year's and next year's first round picks (along with the smaller picks) for one first round pick this year.

The Andrew Vaughn LF Thread
Don't think they would get much right now. If he continues well for the whole year, they may get something in the off season.

That's a I think we all needed a laugher White Sox Winner
It was obvious on Saturday after he went into the net for an attempted catch. He came out limping. Looked like his ankle.

Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks
People who play these types of sports are a different type of person anyway. I worked the national championship one year. My job was basically to guard the keg and tape them back together.

They didn't have to do the ads like these guys do. I like guys like Uecker who can have fun with it.

While silly since they are required to do the ad, they may as well have fun with it.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
Well they would need to give up something because it would be a trade. I guess it depends on the price as Heyward has not been very good lately and really won't help them much.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
Is it worth 1 WAR to give up the assets you will need to for acquiring him? Actually it will be less than that as they are part way into the season.

Injuries: can the training staff be blamed?
So you think it was advisable to have Vaughn learn MLB hitting and a new position at the MLB, when the original plan was to ease him in as a part time DH? I assume you are also in the camp of having Justin Fields start for the bears from day 1 with no mini-camps, practice or OTA's

Injuries: can the training staff be blamed?
No but you can be surprised that they entire season type injuries. No team is going to having 5 starting quality OF on the team. It just isn't a good allocation of resources on a team with limited resources. No one willing to sign to sit on the bench is going to replace Jimenez or robert.

That is good. I didn't notice it.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
Is he that much better than Leury? He isn't right now and both would sit when Engel comes back.

I think it's just simply there are some very not nice people posting. They are sure there opinions are right and it's the only correct view and they feel better mocking those who disagree with them.

Injuries: can the training staff be blamed?
It's not unfair. Think about how many professional sports teams there are. Just like players, there are going to be some that are better than others. However, the Sox have good people. I'm wondering if there was pressure put on Engel to hurry up and he did too much.

Correct.

Injuries: can the training staff be blamed?
Correct

Injuries: can the training staff be blamed?
The only one that concerns me is the multiple set backs for Engel. It's puzzling. Jimenez and Robert were freak accidents. But both if them seem to do it regularly. The odd part isn't the muscle strains because those happen but the catastrophic nature of them. Pitching the way they do now with maximum effort for longer periods of time is just going to lead to injuries.

I'm going to guess we will hear him getting PRP or stem cell insertions for this. They will help stimulate the healing process.

It was the trip and the awkward reach afterwards.

It can help with healing in general.

You are a contrarian aren't you. When everyone is positive, you're negative. When everyone is negative you go the positive.

Fractures are far less of a concern. Thise heal easy unless you have osteoporosis.

Makes sense. I've never seen one and there is no literature on it in the sports medicine research. There is for milder strains but not grade 3.

A fracture, anything short of a ankle dislocation, would have been preferable. With a fracture it's a plate, a pin and 6-8 weeks, good as new.
