He can't have him pitch them all. With starters going so few innings now, everyone in the bullpen needs to be used. Bummer did not look good in LAA. I never said I was complimenting him. I said I was waiting to see and not condemning it 1 week into the season.

Get used to it. Teams are conditioning starters to go balls out until they die and don't like to have them face the lineup a third time. It isn't just the Sox, it's analytics telling all teams to do this.

No. I don't think he's looked incompetent. He needs to learn the strengths and weaknesses of the team. Like today, Foster looked good last year. Not so much now. They will learn who to trust and not to trust as they are pitching this year. Bullpen pitchers are fickle.
