  1. Len has said he is here for the radio gig because he wants to work the post season more. TV guys don't get to do that. It's one of the reasons he left the northside.
  2. It won't be a week. It will be at most 4 days like a regular starter rest and maybe 3 due to the limited number of pitches. Although maybe 4 after today as his pitches were in the 40s I think. It is an interesting question as this is an out of the box way to get him innings.
  3. Ok. But by the way they are using him, I think I'm right. It's takes time to build up innings when he hasn't pitched competitive innings since 2018.
  4. Does it really make it harder on others when the Sox only need to use just Kopech on some days because it gives everyone else a day off?
  5. I hope he pitches in the post season as well. They will just need to keep it lower during the season because they know he will need to make a few starts in the post season.
  6. Because his arm isn't ready for it yet and they are keeping his innings down to start later in the season. He hasn't pitched competitive innings since 2018.
  7. Kopech will not get to 140 innings. I would guess 120 max.
  8. Isn't there a rule about how soon they can recall a player after they were just sent down?
  9. It's one of the scapula stabilizers. Not uncommon for pitchers to have issues with it.
  10. No big deal. 10 days is about right for the muscle strain unless it's a really bad one, which it doesn't sound like it.
  11. I was there too. Sitting so high it was in seats that don't exist anymore.
  12. It's almost like he is managing this group for the first season and trying to learn their strengths, weaknesses and comfort level.
  13. No doubt.
  14. Oh yeah. I'm old and remembered that wrong. Anyway, I'll still wager they keep Lamb over Mendick.
  15. Scott Brosius was a role player who was the World Series MVP. I guess we'll see what the team does.
  16. that type of role. Not necessarily the player.
  17. Similar how the Dogers used max Muncy in the post season last year. All good teams have that pinch hitter with power they like off the bench. It may not work out but all teams look for that guy for the post season. Look at a guy like Scott Broadus who was world series mvp or Geoff Blum from 2005.
  18. Getting ready to start is in 22. This year is only about getting him 60-70 innings so he can throw 100-120 next year.
  19. And neither have as many as Madrigal. And madrigal has a higher OPS than both. (lights fuse and runs away)
  20. Especially Fb on the inner half. It looks like that is the current book on him.
  21. You could tell just by the reaction. engel pulled up and grabbed his leg. Tim just slowed down and pointed to it.
  22. Thats what he would do anywhere. He needs to build up reliever amount if innings this year around 60-70. Next year he should be on the kopech plan of 100-120 with multiple inning outings either in the minors or majors. The issue with crochet he could just throw fastballs down get away with it in the minors. At least in the MLB he will learn to get MLB hitters out. If his luck changes.
