  1. Except hit left handed with power. The sox have plenty of RH hitters already
  2. No depth? How many teams go 7 deep on outfielders ready to play extensive innings? That's just not realistic.
  3. We won't be a starter until 2023. He just doesn't have the innings yet.
  4. Yes. It will. He is only slated for 60-70 innings like a typical reliever.
  5. Because he's left handed and can throw 100.
  6. Name a better one right now. The entire team is still on a funk without Jimenez. I think it has really messed with the hitters mentally. There are all thinking they have to do everything on their own.
  7. From the interview it sounded like Katz brought it up.
  8. I wish I heard the whole interview. It had something to do with the new rules. Is there different rules for someone starting an inning and how many hitters they need to face? I haven't really paid attention to the rule.
  9. I missed the whole interview but TLR mentioned how the new reliever will usually come in after 1 hitter in an inning. He and Katz decided that with the new reliever rules it was an advantage. So we'll usually see pitchers catty over to 1 hitter in an inning.
  10. Agreed. Bieber is on tonight.
  11. They told him he had to do 20 push-ups for every fly ball. ?
  12. I'm talking overall for the career. Going game by game this early is deceiving. It's still over 360 for his career.
  13. It's still useful without the slugging. Someone needs to get on base in this lineup of free swinging.
  14. Nick has so far. However I would guess the average goes up. The approach is too good.
  15. 350-380 OBP is a useful player in the lineup.
  16. The issue with this lineup isn't that Lamb and Williams are in. It's that Robert, abreu and moncada aren't hitting at all.
  17. While all of this is true, they need to balance the present and the future. All teams have young players they are breaking in for the MLB. The team obviously feels Vaughn has nothing left to learn in the minors, you may disagree but they have seen him more than you have. The Sox are going to struggle at times due to so many 1st and 2nd year players. Inexperience shows. But as they all gain experience it will improve.
  18. I think they are slowly breaking him in to get adjusted to MLB pitching. That combined with the unbelievable start of Mercedes has limited his playing time early in the season. Within a month Vaughn will be in there nearly everyday unless Mercedes continues the unreal streak he is on.
  19. I would disagree. It shows that he is being selective and has an appropriate approach at the plate. He is a young player and will develop hitting the pitches as he progresses. For a young player OBP is an important stat.
  20. A lot of people get off work at 3? I'm in the wrong profession.
  21. I will be leaving shortly for the game.
  22. Did the entire first paragraph already happen? I don't think the season is over yet, to have predictions come true.
  23. I guess I'm not so absolutely positively sure in my opinion and that I can't possible be wrong so I'm giving him more than a 7 game stretch to see how it goes.
