  1. He is definitely making contact more often than I thought he would this early in the season.
  2. Just depends on how the teams conditioned there pitchers with the shortened camp. Cleveland seems to be the only team of the ones we've seen that have their starters go more than 80 pitches so far.
  3. That has nothing to do with arm not being ready to throw more than 80 pitches this early in the season.
  4. Sure. But the ump calling that low and outside strike that the Sox hitters can't hit, Indians hitters wouldn't be able to hit it either. However, more so the last couple of pitchers for the Sox haven't been as effective as Giolito and they didn't try it either.
  5. Yep. Protect the arm. He's gone about as far as he should for this point of the season.
  6. I'm watching the game. Giolito has not gone low and outside much at all. The Indians while haven't scored have had guys on base and threatened. The Sox hitters are swinging at low and out of the zone and striking out with few hits.
  7. While the Sox pitchers refuse to go there, not least not often.
  8. I think the Sox are a high ball hitting team. They have trouble with low pitches that Cleveland is feeding them.
  9. Or possible not throw everything up out of the zone. He was doing better earlier but went high for every pitch but one for the walk.
  10. I haven't watched other games but could the league have given the umps orders to get the games moving by making them swing? Because there have been awful calss outside the zone in all games for the Sox.
  11. Then I would agree. He would be great to have. I'm one of the few that advocated to keep him and not sign Grandal. Not that I don't like Grandal but I thought they could use the money elsewhere since they had McCann.
  12. This would only work if another team wasn't going to pay him enough to start 130 games for them. No team pays two catchers All-Star starting salaries.
  13. I don't think its a good use of resources to pay 2 catchers starting salary. McCann certainly shouldn't settle for non-starter salary. The Sox created this and knew it would come to this when they signed Grandal.
  14. Not if its a true UCL injury. A true muscle issue, I'll buy.
  15. That's the hope but there are very few reasons why a forearm strain occurs. Most aren't good especially for a previous UCL injury.
  16. The current literature is about 89% return to previously level of play for the first reconstruction. There hasn't been much written on the second one. i;m not sure where you found those numbers but I'm surprised they are that high.
  17. Good point, What was I thinking.
