  1. Why do veteran hitters forget how to hit when they come to the Sox? This is a serious question. I can't remember the last time a good hitter came to the Sox and even had a "normal" year for their career. I've always thought it was the reputation of Comiskey being an HR park and they all come and just swing for the fences and aren't hitters any more.
  2. Correct and look at the records of all 3 teams. All around or below .500. The point is that it's difficult to win with this many injuries. All 3 are proving it.
  3. No it's an easy fix. This ligament tends to pop off one end as opposed to tearing in the middle like some ligaments. They just go in, find it and then tack it down.
  4. No. The Garcia is a sure heal with no impact on future performance. It's about a 12 week rehab post surgery.
  5. If its torn all the way its surgery. With the UCL its surgery if it's even 50%. Its the only thing that supports grip for the thumb. Healing for a ligament is 6-8 weeks if it's around a 50% for a sprain.
  6. Might be time for the other UCL surgery. The one in the thumb. Must have been a pretty severe sprain.
  7. They will need to dip heavily into the alternate site pitcher who have been on regular schedules
  8. 45 day IL for a sprained thumb? Uh oh. Maybe time for the other UCL surgery. The one in the thumb.
  9. No doubt. They need to add extra pitchers for many of their roster spots.

No doubt. I remember listening to that legislative session live on the radio when a number of them started singing Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey goodbye to the Sox. He did save them from leaving.
  11. Why not? With 7 inning games and expanded rosters, it shouldn't be that tough. Its baseball not football or running marathons.
  12. I'm with you. Compounded by being getting my undergrad at Marquette.
  13. He doesnt treat the cervical spine
  14. Hes a coach. He was yelling from the other side of the room
  15. The league has already said it would be unfair for STL to go right into games without at least a couple of workouts. So Friday looks to be doubtful unless they bring up a bunch of taxi squad players for the first few games.
  16. It's also hard to do. The increased spin rate is easier to maintain on pitches up in the zone.
  17. Its the how long it stays up before it drops that is the new part. That is the carry.
  18. It's the latest "thing we can measure." It used to be called rise because the ball looked like it would rise compared to other pitches because it didn't drop as much (even though it does actually drop.) Just like a "tight spin" on any breaking pitch was always desired. It just talked about more because it can be measured.
  19. No. But thats the wrong question. The questions is that if they have an in house prospect that is good enough to give a chance at the rotation, they can use the limited budget (you know JR is really going to restrict the budget next year) to acquire another player of greater need, maybe a RF.
  20. Yep. TUMS all around. At least this one is on an off day when there really isn't much else to post.
  21. Hermanson, takatsu and Jenks all in the WS champion season were outside the org.
  22. Correct. Which means they are locked into Giolito, Keuchal, Cease and Kopech for next year. If they go top tier FA (which I still maintain is not a wise investment) that means neither Dunning nor Stiever got a shot. Let's see how Dunning looks when they bring him up before making off season decisions.
  23. I assume then no one wants to give any of the young, inexpensive, cost controlled pitchers like Dunning or Stiever a chance. Giolito, keuchal, cease, kopech. Or is Cease gone instead.
