  1. Those are the 2 most likely. There are a couple middle ground scenarios for a 2-4 week absence. A labral tear not significant enough for surgery or a mild AC separation.
  2. I like it. I think it actually adds to the strategic thinking. Managers can no longer just bring in a pitcher for a lefty matchup, that's easy. They now need to think, "who is the best pitcher to face the next 3 guys." It may not always be the easy lefty matchup.
  3. It's like the late 80s early 90s Sox, 12 hits 2 runs.
  4. "Jammed" is a good sign. It means that it's not the more serious dislocation/subluxation of the glenohumeral joint or a separation of the AC joint. You would think they would state those if that's what happened as those are fairly obvious to find but you never know. The primary concern now is if he injured his labrum. This would be the injury that may need surgery. By the way he was holding it to not move it you still cant rule out the more serious ones but the report is hopeful.
  5. This pitcher is throwing 85 mph 4 seamers and they cant touch him.
  6. That is really conservative. They rarely do surgery for straight up subluxation.
  7. Depends on the extent probably 2-4 weeks unless its dislocation or a grade 3 separation.
  8. I believe so.
  9. Possible as is a subluxation
  10. Yes. It a way to keep the shoulder from moving.
  11. They'll do that to stabilize the shoulder as well.
  12. No there are many things it could be.
  13. I remember when they used to do that and NFL players smoking on the sidelines.
  14. Depends on the size of the fracture. A small hairline type in one of the small bone in the wrist can only be found with bone scan or MRI.
  15. Your clavicle is the only bone attachment for the entire shoulder girdle.
  16. Bones heal in 4-6 weeks. Depends on rehab cor everything else around it for how long you are out. The wrist depending on the bone can be up to 12.
  17. Giolito is going to hit the mascot soon.
  18. Hopefully he was a position player and not a pitcher.
  19. I think it's a good idea. At least 28.
  20. Many did at the time. I think there were calls for his release.
  21. Too bad they'll be gone once the rosters shrink.
  22. They still have Collins.
  23. So there is one?
  24. This I will say could be caused by the shortened preseason.
  25. I've said why for the last couple of years. It's too many pitchers trying to throw the ball through a wall for too long. Two significant factors for injuries are number of fastballs and amount near full velocity. Pitchers dont pace themselves. It's like trying to sprint a marathon.
