  1. Of course Dad is going to say that. the kid needs a contract.
  2. We agree then. Wow, it is a philosophical wacky day.
  3. I'm convinced that was JR finally allowed them to do it. They both had pushed to do a total rebuild for awhile.
  4. Its a paraphrase from Lao Tzu. I wish I could take credit for it.
  5. Kind of like Cub fans and Jimenez and Cease. Except these two are in the sports news in town much more.
  6. Those who live in the past suffer depression Those who live in the future suffer anxiety Only those who live in the present can be truly content
  7. Movement of the body is nothing more than physics with a little physiology to provide the force.
  8. Maybe but this isn't one of them. If anything a larger person would have a longer lever arm (pun intended) produced more force and had a more severe injury.
  9. If you watch the video he lands hard on his elbow. This drive the humerus up into the acromium (top of the shoulder). This is a classic shoulder separation move. He's lucky he didnt fracture his clavicle. I typically see this in people falling off a bike.
  10. Frank Thomas is in the picture. While not a comparable defensive player, He was a much better hitter early on.
  11. I really like watching him pitch, the old school long arm slinger.
  12. But Eddy Alvarez made the MLB roster
  13. Could be. Remember he had a bursa removed which will predispose him to this type of thing. Regardless of spring training.
  14. Probably 3-4 weeks, could be up to 6-8 if it was really bad
  15. Yes. these aren't the "not in shape type" injuries.
  16. Probably closer to 3-4. The surgery would be a cleanup.
  17. He tore a couple of the AC ligaments and the joint is a little loose.
  18. If it's that the timeframe it's a grade 2 with some instability. The only surgery would be an arthroscopic cleanup.
  19. It's probably the radius, nothing really called the radial.
  20. That mechanism is really odd for a shoulder injury. Looked more like an elbow. The most common should injury with the arm out like that is an AC separation or an inferior subluxation. Weird.
  21. What strategy is there in a "LH comes up I'll put a LHP in, next hitter is RH so I'll change to RHP." I takes much more thought into which pitcher is best for the next 3 hitters. It could be LHP or RHP regardless of who is the next hitter up.

  23. There must be something going on there. He looked physically ready in the one Spring Training outing.
