Well if you want to be look at the brighter side of life (I'll duck now) 1. They played terrible 2. The starting pitching was awful 3. They couldn't hit when it counted. and they still only lost 4-3, 5-3 and had a legitimate chance to win both games up until the very end. Here's hoping KC cools off before the Sox get there otherwise it could be another long series.

I wasn't framing it that way. I just see how the sox should have 5 outfielders of starter quality that would agree to backup contracts.

You were referring to Mazara' and Jimenez injury history so they should have better backups. I was just curious as to injury Mazara had that the Sox should have predicted.

I know. It just bugs me when people complain about lineups when they have multiple starters out. The team should obviously have 5 starting outfielders on the roster and 7 starting infielders because obviously starting quality players will sign up for backup positions.

Got it. Makes sense with his injury history to which he was referring.

Well if you don't include homeruns, sox pitchers don't give up many runs ?

Wow a manager who has all LH against a RH pitcher in the first game and now uses an all RH lineup against a LH pitcher. He's worse the Renteria with playing the RH, LH matchups.

Collins had a walk and a run would've scored if the ump called actual strikes.

Pitching has not been the primary issue today. They've left what 10 runners on and loaded the bases 3 times.

Wow a Sox hitter who took an outside pitch the other way
-
7/28 Sox/Indians Double Header thread
Why do Sox hitters insist on pulling outside pitches?

You're right. Some are doing well others aren't You can fire him but I think that would just be firing a guy to fire somebody. I don't think that would be soemthing that would turn the season around as you implied in that post.

Yes, the reason the Cease is the only pitcher today that couldn't throw strikes is the fault of the pitching coach.
