Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
The surgery he had was to resect the bursa to decompress the impingement. He didn't have structural damage to the cuff or labrum as near as I can tell. Just some repeated inflammation of the bursa. He should be fine by now unless there are other factors causing the impingement that they didn't find.

Aren't the Sox more likely to be ready in 2021 than 2020?
Proven only equals winning? Not experience.

Torborg had previously been a manger.

A big part of it is the revenue sharing between the franchises. Each team receive a great deal more money from other teams than any of the other sports.

Except for teams like the Bears were it is the only family business.

Aren't the Sox more likely to be ready in 2021 than 2020?
This is so far off base and ridiculous that it's impossible to even rationalize. However, some people manage it.

No they have realistic expectations of what JR will spend. Every single person on this board would not make these comments if they though the budget for the team would be 200 mil each year. They are basing everything on the history of what the budget for the team typically is and what restrictions that places on how the FO NEEDS to operate. Not necessarily on how they WANT to operate.

I think this is the most positive post you've ever had.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Yep. This is the primary reason for no Castellanos. It would be a horrendous OF defense even with Robert in the middle.
-
Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
Defense should be a significant factor in who the y bring in for RF with Jimenez in LF. They can't have 2 awful defenders in the OF. This is why I don't care for a Castellanos signing.

Ick.

Sox in on MadBum
He's been my preference all along.
-
Sox in on MadBum
no, if it's for that many years. He won't sign until March so the Sox have time to look elsewhere in the meantime.

Sox in on MadBum
Actually, if it's a 3 year or less deal it may make sense for the Sox. There can be a rotating spot in the rotation for Ryu/Kopech/Rodon this year. See how Lopez does this year and rotate them next year.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
The fact that you refer to him as "this Wheeler guy" tells me everything I need to know about your comments.
-
Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
You have consistently said that during our Machado and other FA discussions.
-
Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
I'm not taking it out of context. To you what is reasonable and what you doubt is irrelevant. Just like your comments about the players always taking the most money. There are obviously emotional issues with family that over rode the money aspect. So guessing what is reasonable isn't a valid counter argument.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Basing the entire conclusion on "I doubt it would have taken that much" doesn't work. You always say that the players will always sign for the most money. When they turn down the most money the discussion turns to what you "doubt." It's just more FO bashing.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
You're just realizing that now?
-
Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
It's because we all know that JR will always have a budget. It may be fine in the first couple years. But after that they will not be able to afford to pay their young players because of the budgetary restriction later.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
This must only apply to pitchers as he did convert (as you put it) on a hitter. One win, one failure, so far.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
His job is to build a team to win. It's not to sign players, or trade players or draft players individually. There isn't just one way to build the team. He will have failed if the team isn't winning this year and competing for the playoffs in 2012.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Agreed, I wonder if it was the years.
-
Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
I still wouldn't want Castellanos. An OF with him and Jimenez would be terrible.
-
Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
I would guess they didn't want to go 5 years. Wasn't there a reports that said the Sox wanted to do shorter term deals?
