  1. There is also a tangible benefit to experience the MLB for a month to have them better prepared for next year.
  2. Why is it s stretch? They sent him down to work in specific things and he is implementing them with success. That can't be viewed as any but a success.
  3. That's kind if my point. It doesnt matter if Jay is playing because none of the others are good options either. None of them will be starting next year.
  4. Why not? None of them are any good. If he was playing any of the others the case could be made for Jay to take their spot. The only winning move is not to play.
  5. I thought you were referring to Alonzo earlier in the year. Right now he really doesnt have any better options than Jay. Although the placement in the lineup is the issue.
  6. I guess. I dont think it's that he doesnt want to clean house and fire buddies. I think it's that he wants it done his way and that's the way it's going to be, right or wrong.
  7. I disagree here. I think the owner being too stubborn and set in his ways is the issue, not that he is weak willed. It's the opposite in my opinion.
  8. I will bet Hahn wanted Ricky to keep playing in the hope that he would play better and they would trade him. That's one I dont necessarily fault Ricky on. Where he had him in the lineup was the issue.
  9. I agree and most of what he says makes sense. There should be a mix, there should never be only one way. He shouldn't care what people outside the clubhouse think because they dont know if a player has a nagging injury or is feeling sick. However, as you said he needs to have a justification for a poor hitter in the middle of the lineup other than they rea,ly aren't trying to win.
  10. I think the primary reason is that this is a tank season and they really aren't in any hurry to bring him back and thus they are being conservative. He is less likely to be injured in the minors as he is playing every other day, mostly, and not taking a roster spot and overloading an MLB player,.
  11. Which is why they will be here next year.
  12. I said all along, it was going his shoulder not elbow, long term.
  13. I think he reads this board and is just doing it to aggravate people here.

    2018 Travel Thread

We drove for 2 1/2 weeks around Alaska. Highly recommended as well. One of our better trips.
  15. The Sox have had their share of injuries. They have that part down.
  16. Can you imagine the reaction on this board if this happened. People were rioting when this Sox team lost the series to the Marlins. Imagine the posts if they were in first and one of the best teams and lost a series to a rebuilding team. NASCAR time!
  17. my apologies. first day back to work. all humor has been removed.
  18. there are all meaningless until the rebuild comes to fruition. its amazing how many posters vote advanced analytics yet decry that numbers are meaningless. This invalidates all advanced metrics
  19. No doubt. However, you can enjoy a game for the game itself. You shouldn't derive all enjoyment from a game based on winning alone.
  20. Not really. A fan by definition isn't rational and off set from the game. You are supposed to be passionate. you have fallen for his anti-player and anti-coach agenda that he pushes because of the way he was treated at Duke by coach K and athletes because he wasn't one.
