Tim Anderson to be suspended 1 game for... language?
As he should. It will continue to hurt him in the long run but he is correct.

Tim Anderson to be suspended 1 game for... language?
If that's the consensus then fine, but it needs to be a policy so the aforementioned umpires like Joe West have rules and it's not up to him to make a judgment call.

Tim Anderson to be suspended 1 game for... language?
Agreed. But he is. So he will be one to make a ruling like this, as he did.

Do you trust an umpire like Joe West to use common sense? They need set rules to keep idiots like him from making judgement decisions.

Tim Anderson to be suspended 1 game for... language?
I've seen it. It was awful when he stopped his show. It was great.

Dave Chappelle would make anything entertaining.

Tim Anderson to be suspended 1 game for... language?
Agreed. There needs to be a set policy.

What stranglehold are you talking about? I'm honestly trying to come up with an adequate solution. If you don't like that one let's see your solution. One that can be applied fairly to everyone. Personally I do not want a biased person like Joe West making judgement calls like this.

If no other race can do it, then they will need panels of each different declared race or ethnicity to determine what is right or wrong for their given race or ethnicity. This should only take about a decade.

Tim Anderson to be suspended 1 game for... language?
Do all players need to declare their race and ethnicity prior to the season? Do all umpires need to carry the list so they know who they can eject and who is allowed to use those names and who they can use them against. Who is going to compile the list of acceptable names African Americans can call each other, names that Cubans or Puerto Ricans can call each other?

Coaching Professionals
From my experience in various pro sports (MLB, MiLB, NFL) the players were only allowed external strength and conditioning people. However, today many go to outside help especially pitchers with places like Line Drive.

Tim Anderson to be suspended 1 game for... language?
Right. Which is why the best option is that no one should use racially sensitive language to anyone.
-
Tim Anderson to be suspended 1 game for... language?
I would agree. But how would the umpire decide if he should have been ejected even?
-
Tim Anderson to be suspended 1 game for... language?
Agreed. They really can't leave it up to the umpires to decide who is what race or ethnicity. It's an all or none proposition for a policy.

You were born before 1990. Your opinions are wrong and invalid.

NFL Thread 2019-2020
You do get the feeling that that's what its going to be like and that the two of them will just be sitting around a table arguing.

Early Promotions?
No doubt. It looks much better for the team if they start him at A+, move him to AA, maybe just start AAA at the end of the season. This way when they start him at AAA next year and bring him up part way through the season, the timeline seems justified. This is all dependent on him continuing to play well at all levels and staying healthy.

The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)
I'm perfectly happy with the way I am. Thanks for the advice though.

Let's hope the Sox have a close one at A+ right now.

Except for the error yesterday for am unearned run which cost a game. He is becoming an outstanding player but he isn't perfect either.

Ok, then.

The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)
It's not ok, I just understand why they do it. I've said repeated times that throwing at the hitter is against the rules and should be punished. But I understand why it gets frustrating and why it's done. I've also said I wouldn't do it and I have never taught anyone to do it. I hope you are clear on that logic.
