I agree. There needs to be a winning record I 2020. That is year 3 of the rebuild and there should be positive results by then.
-
Is that really a fair judgement of his talent though? I think most of the time managers and GMs are fired it's being too reactionary to idiot fans. A team can't have a winning team without consistency. Some other factors that could play into the decision are things like JR demanding they stay in win now mode for so long. I can see why the FO was given the chance at a rebuild since they had been pushing itvfor so long. They irony is that this was all brought on by JR always wanting to keep a winning team on the field.

Ouch

One of the top pass rushers in the league will help them do this.

Yep.

Sexual predators will show a pattern until they are stopped. Not surprising more have come forward.

If this is true, it's borderline malpractice that he was allowed to continue in the game. I guessed it was a stinger based on the fact that no one would put a player back in the game after a dislocation.
-
What kind of scheme is this where they routinely allow unblocked players? I don't think if seen it this often.
-
Stinger. The arm was numb.

All Bears QB for all time will suck per his theory.

I wouldn't say they were level headed. The ones that went against Rauner were mostly from districts where universities are located and if the impasse went too much longer the already increased layoffs would have led to revolts in their districts. This would have killed any chances of re-election.

The problem with Pritzker is the continued tax raises though. His proposed graduated tax is going to be a tax raise for everybody just more for the higher end. It would be a novel idea if they actual promoted sensible spending instead of just raising taxes. Soon there won't be a tax base to tax.

No doubt. However, our benefits for teachers in this state are in the bottom half for the nation. They are not very high salaries compared to most, unless you include Chicago but they don't pay into the pensions and get higher pay. That's a whole other issue.
-
They created this type of pension system in the last budget, part pension and part 403b. The issue is no one can quite agree on how to implement it align with the current tier 1 and tier 2 systems. The problems always comes down to the lack of state funding. They haven't paid their share in the past so even if it's a defined contribution system what makes you think they will pay their portion of it in the future. Also, be careful about wanting the constitutional amendment. Look at what happened to one that passed in Arizona. They changed it to the hybrid you discussed. They capped new hires pensions at 100,000. If the plan doesn't meet growth expectations, new hires are responsible for paying 50% of the shortfall. Now, are you taking a job in the environment?

Yes. Bandwagon fans are bandwagon fans. They'll appear when the Sox start winning whether it's 2019 or 2020. There is no need to get impatient now.

Most pitchers do not have UCL reconstruction. Its still less than 10% but it is rising each year over the past few.
-
All of these are true except the less likely to have an injury. The research shows 85% return to same level of function and competition. Its not common to reinjre the elbow but it happens.

Thus is where things get derailed in politics today. Instead of discussing the issue of the sexual assault, a serious crime, it's digressed to what each side did and which side is controlling the Senate. More political "my side" instead of working through issues.

That's coachspeak to save face for Taylor.
-
He wasn't the only one. Many others said they should have gone Barkley first then any of the QBs at 4. Most had Mayfield as number 3 in that group because they said the Browns could have waited until 4 and still had him.
-
That may have been incentive to never win another game. ?

It's not generalizations if you pick a topic and stick to it instead of bringing something else into it. Can you agree with an economic policy but not the foreign policy. Discuss the specific policy to see if there is a benefit to one or another without breaking down into the immigration policy. Policies can be discussed to determine if you think they are beneficial then put them together to see if you like that person's total agenda.
-
Agreed it's not the who that matters but WHAT the issue is that matters. It's the substance that matters not the style. Unfortunately fortunately we just currently have a President who is sorely lacking in both.
-
These are my issues with politics today. I've never agreed with everything any single politician views. All have some I agree with and some I don't. Identifying with the person and not the issues just seems wrong as even the best ones, from a person's view, can't agree on everything. It really makes it difficult to get issues discussed when all discussion lower to name generalizations. Even in my discussion about the kavanugh case, people were calling me awful because I was questioning the timing of her release and said I was defending Kavanaugh. When in fact every post stated that in my view he should have been prosecuted years ago and never been a judge at any level. Discussion today jumps to quickly to who your "person" is not individual issues. I think on a sports discussion board it's even more so. Today people are conditioned to identify with stars. They are promoted shamelessly in all sports. In fact baseball has been criticized for not promoting stars like Mike trout enough. I'm old but I like the rooting for the name on the front instead of the back philosophy and discuss issues not straight party or politician sides.

I agree with most of this except the part about spending millions. They shouldn't next year, unless one great player falls into them. They have many prospectswaiting to come up in 2020. Why take the chance now. Wait to see which prospects succeed and which won't don't
