The bullpen looks to be pretty good with all of the pieces they've called up. That will shorten the need for the starters.

The 404 slugging doesn't do it for you?
-
It can be either. Usually there is a slight injury and slowly progresses. However, in today's game with the pitchers throwing at the max more and not trying to dial it back to go deeper in games, the single incident injury is becoming more common.

There is absolutely no reason not to expect him back in 2020.
-
Oops. Sorry. On my mobile and must have been off one.

I'm a physical therapist and athletic trainer. I've been treating athletes for 30 years. If you read the previous posts, I'm the one defending deadlifts and say they aren't an issue.
-
It's not pointing fingers. Just justifying why it's not anyone screwing up here. Injuries happen.
-
That's why I qualified it with if they use good form. The injuries you described only happened when it's not done properly. If done properly it's all legs.
-
Its not necessarily to accurately report it, its just report it. After they report it you do the physical tests. With his stature I would guess if he reported any issues he would have been in an MRI unit that evening. You're making your own case against you. Do you really think if there was any indication of an issue from him, that they wouldn't have been very careful with him? This is one of the most experienced medical staffs in the MLB. They wouldn't take the chance.

From an injury stand point there really is no reason for worries. However, everyone knows I dislike his follow through and think it will cause issues.
-
It doesn't sounds like there was any indication from kopech that there was an issue. It depends on what he was reporting and I dont think its been reported.
-
He is not correct from the aspect that the low back is slow twitch muscle mostly and cant generate the force as quickly or as much as fast twitch muscle. That being said if you use good form to protect it, fine.
-
It is not correlated because it is not the only reason that velocity can be diminished. It can be a cause and in this case it looks like it but there are many other reasons. It is not astatistically significant cause.
-
Well it depends on the injury. It is stressful on the spine of your form isn't great.
-
There is no correlation between his velocity and his elbow pain unless he reports issues. It could just been fatigue from the innings.
-
This particular activity is all legs and is fine. I cant say that I agree with them all.
-
The injury is never unavoidable. It just depends on the individual. There is a reason people talk about not throwing at near max all of time. It isn't as easy to pitch that way which is why they need to learn to pitch not throw. There were no reports of issues previous to this at least that I heard.

He injured his knee. He had his helmet off limping around the sideline.
-
Every team has the structure of coaches, instruction and philosophy in place. However, the facilities, nutrition, pay and travel and such he is referring to is the same throughout the minors.
-
I agree they should do it and the players deserve it.

The Bears being bad was finally an advantage. Reports are that the Rams offered a similar package for Mack. However, the Raiders thought that the Rams 1st rounds picks would be much lower than the Bears. Score 1 for the for Fox, Pace and the bad Bears recently.

These comments are scary and just show ignorance, especially about the children. Back in the 70s, multiracial kids did have a more difficult life. These things aren't really true in most places. There will always be some, but the number has decreased tremendously.
-
I wasn't implying that should necessarily keep him but I wouldn't spend much money on someone either as there will be young ones which will need those innings. Anyone any good will command multiple years and I'm not sure i would commit to that if I was them.
-
I think there are enough young pitchers who need those innings. However, that rotation would be scarily inexperienced. I can see the Sox wanting a veteran in there.
-
I'm not sure it would be much different. He still a position and pitched regularly when healthy.
