  1. Carlton Fisk couldn't play into today's game. Think about the reaction of someone yelling at another teams player about playing the game. Many people don't like when the manager benches his own player for the same thing.
  2. Pitcher wins are useless in baseball. Tell me how hitters he strikes out for his career.
  3. The response was about sale or Quintana. It was to a post that said the poster felt sorry for Quintana because he had every right to throw a fit because of frustration with his defense and offense not helping him out (paraphrasing). The fact that he didn't shows he's a high quality person and teammate.
  4. What the heck are "outs above average." Sounds like the subjective criteria similar to an error, "well most people wouldn't make it so we we'll give him an out above average." On the far other end of the spectrum, Palka is tied for the worst outs above average at -13.
  5. That's the price to pay if you are going to do those kinds of things. Again, it's sports. it's all fun. At the end of the day, it's just a game. If someone breaks a bone, he goes on worker's comp for 4-8 weeks and makes more money.
  6. I always picture Carlton Fisk yelling at Deon Sanders to run out a pop up, respect the game and play the game the way it's supposed to be played.
  7. You can always complain about it. That's the fun of sports. It doesn't matter.
  8. I like it. Between him, Madrigal, basabe and Robert, there might be some fun on this team in the future.
  9. Again. Had nothing to do with something that he did to that pitcher. Most of the reasons to hit someone are dumb but for something not specifically done for someone to take exception to is at the bottom.
  10. The Acuna situation is totally different. It was in the first inning of the game and had nothing to do with anything in the game. Kopech took exception to something this player did. It was a dumb reason but there was a reason.
  11. That's why I said "not the part about losing it to the point of giving up hits after the bunt." I kind of like the overall competitive attitude. It does need to be controlled though. He's a young maturing kid. He'll figure it out.
  12. I kind of like it. Not where he loses his composure and gives up more hits but he makes it interesting. Can't wait until someone in the MLB stares at an HR off him.
  13. No reason to. He didn't throw at his head. That's an easy on base for the hitter.
  14. No doubt. While some of the pitches called strikes were obvious, many are "too close to take." The umpires are human. This isn't an exact science. The hitters need to be aware of that.
  15. He's know as a guy who can lose his temper. The incident with the teammate included. One of the "boxes to check" for him at the beginning of the season was to keep his composure on the mound. I would exploit it too if I was the other team.
  16. I saw Van Halen at the amphitheater. Awful acoustics.
  17. First concert from a nationwide band was Head East in 1974 or 1975 at a roller rink in a town where I grew up in Iowa. The first album I purchased myself was KISS Alive in 1977.
  18. Stuff like that happened there all the time in the 80s and 90s (can't vouch for later than that). Isn't wasn't called the Brawlroom for nothing.
  19. We'll know by who they bring up in September.
  20. There is absolutely no reason that Alvarez shouldn't get a September call up. Also it appears that the Southern League has decided not to pitch to Collins.
  21. Just as they can't throw away the bad months and say he is having a good year, you can't throw away his good moments and say he has been nothing but hype. He has given people enough good plate appearances to say he can progress and become a good player.
  22. First it wasn't his birthday, now the uncle didn't catch the ball. Man you're a buzzkill. ?
  23. Of course his #1 prospect days are over. He's exceeded the rookie limit for plate appearances.
