There were three mid-twenties couples sitting behind me at the game tonight. For most of the game the guys were discussing how baseball has no action there only tge three homeruns through the 6th or so with little else for hits. Cleveland got a couple of hits and one of females said, there is your action. In the 8th when Avilan was pitching 2 of the guys started complain about how slow it was and he was taking forever. Avilan threw over to first and they were yelling about what he was doing. After a second throw to first, they said they couldn't take it anymore, it was too slow now even worse than before and they needed to leave. They all got up and left. This is exactly what Manfred is talking about with the pace of play and action in the game. It was quite interesting to watch the conversation develop over the game. And my wife got mad because I was listening more to their conversation and not talking to her. All in all an interesting game,.

Just because FDR fought for it doesn't mean it wasn't extreme. Especially because you are referring to "not a centrist." By definition this is a left view not a central view thus to one side of the spectrum only and an extreme view of the topic. And yes you are correct that he would be unelectable. He may have been popular then. He wouldn't be now.

I didn't say anything about wackjobs or any other qualifying terms other than extremists, which by definition is to one end of the spectrum. By referring to yourself as a leftists, that is an extreme to one side and I'm sure people would refer to you as a whackjob from the other extreme He was declaring the problem was center leftists implying that if they were more extreme to the left they could have something better than ACA.

God forbid there be anything but extremists.

Indians@Sox 7:10 PM NBCSN-CHI Bieber vs. Rodon

Maybe they would have won it with any starter? I'm kidding, of course it can be done it's just not always the best way. If those are your best starters you do it. -

I believe there was article sharing the his kids would lose a ton of money through inheritance if he sells before he dies. Also that he told his kids to keep the Bulls and sell the sox due to the inherent instability of the cost in baseball and the stability of the salary cap in basketball.

I agree that the idea of a national healthcare system could be better. With the size and type of governing body it would take, I just don't think it would work efficiently to be enough of a benefit here. I guess working within the current system for 30 years, has made me very pessimistic and jaded against that type of oversight being effective.
-
The physicians who currently order the unneeded tests and exams, as you believe, will be the same physicians in any new system. What makes you think it will change? They will either be reimbursed somehow or there will be no charge so why not order it. This takes a great deal of oversight and with the fraud in medicare, I don't see it being any better.
-
I do see national healthcare in France as the problem when they would needlessly allow that situation. I don't see why you wouldn't see that as a problem. That's one reason I wouldn't like that type of national healthcare system. I disagree that Medicaid for everyone would be better than the current system. The care would be awful and people would have heath insurance but most wouldn't improve to a point of a good standard of living. I don't know else to say but from inside the system it would be a nightmare to deal with. I dont do agree that the sgstem doesnt have the highest outcomes and would love to have just one insurance company to fill the paper work for. However, if we looked at only the medicare, if not the Medicaid system the results would be 10 times worse. The private system here improves the national outcomes not hinders it. The proof that the governm3nt couldn't run it is the effectiveness or lack of effectiveness of the VA and medicare systems. It's not just my opinion. Look at the fraud and outcomes from those systems and think about them rrying to run a national system.
-
Medicaid is much different than medicare. No one would be happy if all the got was medicare, it's very restrictive. You can't diffuse the "we're too big argument as it's the primary issue. It would need to be each state being responsible for their own healthcare system if you want to compare it to Europe. Even then, many of our states have a larger population than many European countries. There is absolutely nothing wrong with private companies looking for a profit. That's what they are in business for. Most companies offer a variety of plans. Pick the ones you like but it can cost you. Is it a perfect system, no. But it's still better than many, but it is costly. Insurance companies do not make much profit from insurance premiums because of the competition. Where they make their money is investing that premium. My wife is an AVP for a North American division of a global insurance company. The amount of money she deals with on a daily basis is astounding but it's from investing, this is where the profit comes from. Just based on the VA and Medicare,I still don't think our government could effectively run something this large.
-
They either go private or don't get the help they need.
-
I guess I didn't state my point clearly. The large population of the US makes it difficult to finance and run efficiently, especially with the number of people who wouldn't pay into the system but would receive benefits. These are issues that the European countries dont have. Europe may have a larger population but the individual countries do not. The individual countries finance the healthcare system, Europe does not. Even if you takes this into consideration there would be a big quality drop off. For example, someone comes into my clinic for back pain. If will get somewhere between 10-12 visits to work with them, depending on the insurance company, and can sometimes request more. The patient will need to pay A co-pay in most cases. A friend of mine in France, his patients will pay nothing, its totally government funded. However he get 8 visits per year per ussue. This becomes an even bigger issue when you have a permanent issues such as a stroke. Regardless of these issues as I stated, I wouldn't trust the government who can't perfectly run a VA system or a medicare system, which are much smaller, to be able to effectively run a universal healthcare system. Most of the politicians are either too corrupt, self-serving or inept
-
No one group should have that much power. The government can't currently run an effect and efficient VA system for just vets or a medicare system without rampant fraud. There is no way they could run a healthcare system for everyone.
-
But it does make it much more difficult to finance and run effectively.

They seem to be but it's been the left thumb twice. He reaching out with that hand to protect himself during that slide and going into the wall. He needs to be more aware of that.

No doubt this happens where my wife works as well. Although i dont mind that rule because as someone ekse said workers do better if they have some time off. This way besides weekends they are forced to take the 20 hours. Teaching at a university we don't get vacation days but the sick days accrue at a decent rate and never expire.

The only youngsters that will be in The MLB are Jimenez and Kopech. Most of the prospects will be developing in 2020. The true competitive team won't be here until 2021.
-
That's why I said launch them all at that point because they will have failed in their attempt at a rebuild.
-
Unfortunately, that's what politics today has turned into. Hence the lack of people working together to get things done on any issue.
-
I would say once the players acquired during the rebuild reach the MLB. The appropriate timeline for the trades and drafts to reach the MLB and perform is about 4 years. That's 2020 or 2021. if the team isn't competing by then, launch them all.
-
I don't think Hahn's job is in trouble until 2021, I think they will give him the chance to see the rebuild through. Once they committed to the rebuild, they should give him the chance to see his players reach the MLB and see how they do.
-
So they do allow you to build your PTO past the end of the year. It's just limited to 40 hours. I just misread it when you said they don't allow you to build past the end of the year.
