Cease is MLB Pipeline's Pitcher of the Year
I believe it is for the best performance this year. This has nothing to do with potential which is a part of the top prospect voting.

Making the Sox the class of the minors
I totally agree. However, you will never get them to answer anything other than the minor league teams are indepently owned and operated. If you think the conditions are poor in minor league baseball, talk to some of the players in hockey junior leagues. They put even less money there.

Kopech Day IV- Gamethread
The game ruined his career or you did? I really want to know because I must have a single thing to blame. There is no such thing as a problem with multiple causation.

Kopech Day IV- Gamethread
I have no idea if this is actually the case. I'm just giving a couple of possible reasons. MLB hitter will make contact with straight pitches no matter how how he throws them. His first start he was hitting 96-97 regularly. He threw 50 pitches in 2 innings because they kept fouling them off. He won't make it doing that. He needs to work on movement for more misses with less pitches. Or he may just not have had his good stuff due to being fatigued from his innings load and had a bad night.

Making the Sox the class of the minors
I'm not saying that they shouldn't. Believe me when I worked there I would have loved better facilities. Robert has plenty of money to do the things and take care of himself. The Sox just aren't going to lay out that kind of kind money for the return that they will get.

Thats the minors. Your comparison to Alabama is apples and oranges though. Those players make a lot of money for the school. Kids in A ball, not so much.

Kopech Day IV- Gamethread
Pitchers can have rough nights. He hasn't learned how to pitch in the MLB yet, let alone how to pitch without his best stuff. Pitching in the MLB is stressful on the body and he has been on adrenaline since his call up and he is pitching more innings than he ever has.

They can't perform well if they are on the DL. We've all seen how difficult it is for pitchers to stay healthy year after year. I'm probably biased but I think it's keeping them healthy first. They all have talent to varying degrees and he does need to maximize their performance but he can't do that if they aren't on the mound.

Cooper keeps his pitchers healthy. That is job number 1. Besides with the talent he's had lately would you really expect anything different.

Because MLB hitters are better than minor league hitters and the precision of the command needs to be better.

Better than ending his season this past weekend. He will get more innings either way.

Makes for a good FIP, not so much for the ERA.

Yeah, I talked to my buddy in France and he explained the difference. He isn't a government employee. Like I said before the cost is next to nothing for his patients but the service is very limited compared to what we get here.

The HR Chain
Great tune. I haven't seen anyone outside the park selling them yet.

Abreu has surgery, out at least 2 weeks
Wow, that's aggressive return, especially sitting on a bike seat. It's usually at least 10 days for the incision to heal.

9/3 Games
His hairline fracture was to his radius not one of his wrist or carpal bones. I don't think that would have much effect on his power.

Abreu has surgery, out at least 2 weeks
It's usually some kind of groin injury but can also happen with something as simple as sleeping when people roll over. Its mostly with people who are born with a genetic abnormality, I cant remember the name, where the testicles move more freely than most. The testicle actually spins and cuts off the blood supply, which is what causes the pain.

Abreu has surgery, out at least 2 weeks
Owww. Testicular torsion hurts more than a typical hernia. However, the recovery is about the same length. He should be fine by the weekend. I can see why they would ease him back. Hopefully, they caught it early enough or that he has had his kids already.

2018 Democrats thread
I believe the healthcare in France is essentially nationalized. I think It's around 80% funded by the government.

2018 Democrats thread
The scenario is also true in many countries with government healthcare. My friends in England want nothing more than to move up the ladder in their companies so they can get private healthcare. The dliemma is that these promotions come with more management and less patient care. So there is a trade off.

Mack fills a huge positional need for the Bears at one of the most important positions on the field. Machado isn't a great SS although he is an elite hitter, do the Sox even have a postitional need at SS?

The " Tank" is dead . Let there be Light !
He is a crappy defender but I think he is a better overall hitter than Delmonico and Palm a but palka provides DH power.they will not have Cordell, Engel and Leury all on the team. I think it's either Cordell or Engel. Avi could be the RH OF off the bench because of his hitting. He should get paid as a backup but another team may offer more.

I agree. Although i could see a scenario of a non-tender and re-sign at a lower contract to be a part time player.
