He tries to throw everything 107 anyway. Its the nature of todays pitcher. This is why there aeee so many UCL reconstructions. He needs to come to the MLB and learn and adjust at some point and it needs to be done beofre the are ready to contend so he is ready whenthe team is ready.

She did say saywere different injuries. Im willingly to help with questions if i can. Feel free to tell everyone. I love that movie. It came out when i was in college. -
I know is was really more of a joke albeit a bad one. On break from school and my mind is too idle.

Hence the "if" Maybe if the rebuild doesnt work, we can hire you go go after the Sox FO.

It's a nice article but the injuries are really two very different things. Achilles injuries happen all the time and there are standard protocols for repairs and rehab. Psoterior tib injuries are much more rare and the surgeries and rehab are far less standard. The function of the achilles is a big thick tendon built to sustain a great deal of force. It adds force to running and jumping and absorbs the force of landing. The posterior tib is primarily responsible for attenuating forces throughout the foot and lower leg by controlling the lowering of the arch and rotation of the lower leg. While they are both tendon injuries they are vastly different in morphology and function thus vastly different surgeries and rehab. BTW: I like the reference to Real Genius under your name. -
The difference is that if you hired a good contractor, you are guaranteed to have a very nice kitchen when he is done. The contractors for the sox don't have good track records and the is no guarantee the Sox will be good at the end of the remodel. Eventually you will have a great environment for that viking stove. It's not that clear for the sox. not that i don't agree with the rebuild, they had to try something different. however, I can understand why some people don't like the current situation.

I think early 2020 is a little late if they plan on competing in 2020. look at Moncada last year vs. this year. At the latest I would think it would be June/July 2019.
-
I think part of the pint is that he needs to come up and learn at the MLB level prior to the Sox "window." This is tryue for all of the prospects. You can't expect them to be great their first year. The Sox should expect a learning year. So if they expect to contend in 2020, the logical progression is bring them up at some point this year, get settled and learn in their first full year (2019) and contend the next (2020).

No doubt. Not a good move. But if Ozzie hired walker, we know KW and Ozzie were at odds about many things, especially at the end. This could have been a shot at Ozzie.
-
Obviously. Hold on to your money and your stick. Good advice in the MLB.
-
It's usually the manger who hires the coaches, but here it's always KW whether he's the GM, VP or director of player development.
-
I would agree. His play will let them know what to do. At this pace he should go to AAA within a few weeks at most. Then his play there will determine if he goes to the show prior to September. He needs to get some MLB seasoning prior to the Sox projected window of contention.

Delmonico is barely a passable LF. He would be awful in CF. Palka doesnt seem athletic enough but i havent seen him much. Leury can do itbut then there is no back up.
-
That's a great deal of arrogance on one show. I don't think both of their heads would fit in the studio together.
-
Without Engel and Thompson, who would play CF?
-
You hope. There is no guarantee that the prospect will come up and perform well. This team needs many of them to perform well.
-
It sounds like they did use an external graft to augment the current tissue. The current tissue must have been hambuger (pun intended). Hit sounds as if its an autograft from his own body. Hopefully it all heals well.
-
highly doubtful. Maybe he was told he could be out of the boot and it was just an unlucky incident. I don't remember the exact date of the surgery to know the timeline.
-
Partial tears in "older" individuals that progress to rutures happen. I've seen re-ruptures in the 40 and over group as well. It all has to do with blood supply or lack thereof. This occurring in a 22 year is perplexing.
-
Yes. He should be in the typical walking boot you see many people with foot and ankle injuries wear. This will prevent excessive motion and prevent this type of reoccurence. He should be out of it during rehab but still wear it outside of the clinic, maybe not wear it when he is just sitting around the house. My guess is he just though "I'm going outside to turn off the sprinkler (or something similar) it will be fine." If this is truly what happened.
-
I guess my prediction that he should return with no issues was way off. It's a huge setback and a big issue. In 30 years I've never seen a re-tear in a younger individual. If the story is true, we must have been walking without his boot and slipped or something. He should not have been walking without his boot this early, if it's been around two months since surgery. the big issue is the quality of tissue left in his achilles. the surgery is like trying to tie pieces of spaghetti together. Now the spaghetti is frayed as well. They may need to take tendon tissue from another part of the body or use synthetic tissue, if the tissue quality isn't there. This isn't a ligament where it's a static structure. This tissue needs to have the contractile and flexibility to run and jump. I can honestly says that this is one I have never experienced. He will have the advantage of youth and a good blood supply to the area. However, the fact that he is young and has torn it twice doesn't give much confidence.

UPDATE: Doctors expect Farquhar to pitch again, but not before 2019

No doubt. -
That doesnt mean it wont change once the current prospects make the MLB. There can be different strategies for different situations.
-
No doubt. Howver i think acquiring talent in desperation for one last try vs. continuation of success will be a different situation. If they are sucessful in this rebuild, I will give them the chance to continue it. If the rebuild isnt a success then neither of us neec to worry about it.
-
Those assets the sox had to trade were acquired and signed to deals by the same front office. This group has never had the opportunity to do a complete rebuild. Theo has never done a rebuild without having one of the highest payrolls in baseball. The white sox will never have the resources that the red sox or the cubs had to work with. Both are unknown but I would be willing to give the sox group the benefit of the doubt because of the talent they have recntly acquired. They have about 3 years to prove they can produce a consistent winner.
