The key is about 100 innings. Probably a little more for Smith as he had around 90 last year.
-
Let him learn to get out MLB hitters in a less stressful situation to set him up for success? Its not the only way but it is a valid point.
-
The entire league is. The arbitration ceiling has been raised. Lockout here we come.Thats about 23% of the tigers payroll from last year.
-
Just more fuel for the lockout. He is in his 5th year? Now the ceiling has been raised for players in that year

The mayor of Arlington Heights was on the radio discussing the issue. His comment was the only sticking point in Illinois is the property tax. The examples he used were Sofi in LA lays 8.5 million in taxes. The united center pays 6 million. When the race track in Arlington was active they paid 3 millions. The state currently charges the bears for the empty lot 16 million. The bears are afraid of what the state will charge for the stadium and surrounding area once it is built up. -

Yes, that usbwhy the revenue from the Bulls would used to support the projects around the Unired Center. They shouldn't blend the revenues from one to the other. -

I meant that was where the money for the 1901 project was coming from. It is in cooperation with the Wirtz family. -
Does it really matter if they are disgusted with it now or in the offseason when they let him go for just a QO? They are going to be mad reggardless.
-
That is definitely a good way to look at it. Would depend on the offers with inly 1 year of control.
-
Depends on where they are in the standings at the teade deadline then.
-
Because they aren't going to pay him and they want to get something in return? Valdez may be the replacement.
-
Yes.

Ive talked to the arbiters in the past. Its pretty cut and dry. The agents makes the case. The tram makes the case. The arbiter ask questions independently if needed. Then they have to pick ine or the other. There is no "negotiating" or discussion really.

If you listen to Bannister, all of Grant's characteristics are more that of a reliever than a starter to stay healthy. This is not true for Smith.
-
He should. He had a good year in his rookie season.
-
Its all second hand so nothing specific but far too many stories with not just players.
-
Behind the scenes there have been many more incidences.

White Sox acquired RHPs Jordan Hicks and David Sandlin from BOS

I think some of the proof about Getz being handcuffed are the drastic changes he has made to the entire organization and structure. I have no idea if he is right or if he will be successful but the changes means he clearly did not like the way things were done before and wasnt allowed make those changes in his previous position. -
True.
-
I think Periera will be one as well.

I dont necessarily disagree with most of what you said. The ine i do disagree with is the loses. They were tanking to rebuild. They were trying to lose. So in that respect it is a positive as he did it better than anyone. You can disagree with the plan to tank and rebuild but that's what they were doing and got the 1-1 pick this year.
