  1. Yep and depending on the labor relations maybe not 2027 either.
  2. But who picks the players to spend the money on. From what I hear JR only gets involved in setting the budget and approving (or usually rejecting) really large contracts. The issue always has been who the team can afford while fielding a full team under the budget. This is why having a group of young pre-arb players is so important. With that cost saving they may be able to afford 1 or 2 high end players. JR usually has a payroll in the middle of the pack.
  3. Many minor leaguers eat at fast food chains. They dont make a great salary in general.
  4. I think most people have been saying that all season in light of the labor impasse coming in 2027
  5. Yeah, he obviously wasn't worth much so even a utility type guy was worth it.
  6. We'll see if he can build the team. That will be the proof.
  7. Personally, I thinks its just time to move on from the while situation. So in this case I probably would have.
  8. Yes, its on hom. Its his job to determine if the return is worth the trade. Just because a bunch of people on a posting board want it done doesn't mean its always the right thing. The jury is still out on Getz. Well know on a couple of years.
  9. Because i dont agree. I understand your point. I just dont agree.
  10. So would you rather be mad at a light return or mad that a trade isnt made. Irrationality is real.
  11. Not colluding but reports are that at least one team valued civale more than Houser. May all the teams are looking at his bad K/bb ratio and other stats and think he isnt as good. During trade time we tend to over value our own players. Would you rather be mad at a light return or mad that the trade wasnt made?
  12. That's the key. He should be worth. Bit what are the offers?
  13. I would sell high. If its was anything worth it. Seems teams think Civale has more value than Houser by reports.
  14. If the offer is just a DSL flyer or the equivalent, yes. Depends on the offer. Why would he trade him for something that's not worth it? He does have intrinsic value for the team. I would trade all of them if they could get something of value. I just dont know what the offers were to make that decision.
  15. Sorry. Didn't realize i wasnt allowed to express my opinion on WHO I wanted to see. We are talking all about retread pitchers here. If they aren't getting anything worth it back I want to see the current pitcher continue to pitch the innings.
  16. Ewww. I forgot about Perez though. I have no interest in seeing any of the others.
  17. I forgot about Perez. I have no interest in seeing the other 2. If they have to shut down Smith or any of the others. They'll probably need them though.
  18. I think he is valuable enough to take innings from the young pitchers to protect thoer arms if they dont have a offer of anything more than just a flyer. Someone will need to throw the innings.
