  1. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) Rats. . . Sorry, Charlie Brown.

    Joe Crede

    QUOTE(fathom @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:43 AM) And if you are going to trade him away, wait until this offseason where his value around the league as a prospet will likely be much higher than it is right now. My dream move this offseason is still Broadway, Fields, and 2 other good prospects for Miguel Cabrera. I'd do it.
  3. QUOTE(soxman352000 @ May 26, 2006 -> 08:44 AM) His whole shtik is the angry blackman routine. Quite Frankly his show is a piece of s*** and he is a first rate douchebag You've nailed it.
  4. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:41 AM) Here's Hoping. BTW, there seems to be a screwy feature on the revamped site. Consecutive posts made by the same poster in a thread are automatically merged into a single post. At east that is my experience right now. Is this intentional? See? The reply to Queen in this post was actually it's own post, then the quip about the automerge was another. This line is supposed to be its own post as well, but I bet it gets merged as well. . . Yep. So stop trying to run up your post count.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) I still think he's Marriotti. You may be on to something.
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) Why is everybody getting on this guys ass about talking about the Cubs? I'm on this site almost every day and lots of people talk about the Cubs, they get a drop-in mention a lot during the game threads ... Rock, Fathom, myself, several others ... we all make comments/cracks about the Cubs. What he does isn't as bad or certainly any worse than others who beat certain topics to death, or am I missing something here? Lots of people here dislike the Cubs ... almost as much as they dislike the wave. Nobody else is obsessive-compulsive about them. Sure, an occasional shot at the Cubs is fun, but this ridiculous.
  7. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:26 AM) If the fine is $500 or something of that sort, I really don't think AJ will think its worth the effort. If he appeals it, he may end up getting suspended. That won't happen. The players have the right to appeal.
  8. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:20 AM) Hey! I f***in hate the Cubs all right. Don't you get it? We don't give a rat's ass about the damn Cubs. We're here to talk about the White Sox. The Cubs ain't worth a pimple on your daddy's ass. Enough about the Cubs already.

    Joe Crede

    QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:08 AM) I think Crede is a FA after 2007. Boras is his agent. The prospects of re-signing wouldn't appear to be very good. Its way too early to speculate on what KW would want or could get for Crede because he's not available right now. If its just for some prospects, if Crede continues to play like he's playing now, he would help the Sox attempt at a championship far more than the prospects would, so I would expect KW to hang on to him and worst case scenerio take the draft picks if he signs somewhere else. As long as the Sox were in contention, there would be absolutely no reason to trade him unless the Sox got major league players that filled needs. I believe we control Crede through '08.
  10. Can somebody tell me what AJ did to deserve any punishment at all?
  11. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ May 26, 2006 -> 06:11 AM) Lets say AJ and Anderson are both suspended... Does that mean that Stewart and Sweeney are both brought up? ...and lets say that Sweeney has like a couple of 3-3 days in that strech... Will that send BA to triple A No call ups. Suspended players still hold the roster spots. We play short handed.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 25, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) Dude, they just go to places like Liberty University and never have to worry about such problems. In all seriousness, at least they have that option instead of going to some state run institution of so called higher learning.
  13. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Come on YAS. They lied. So did Clinton, as if that matters here. Everyone here was probably smart enough when all this started to know that WMD had almost nothing to do with our going to war in Iraq - it was primarily a regional strategic play to gain an anchorhead. And now we've reached the point where that has become more obvious to the oblivious public. But they did in fact lie, multiple times, about the bases, and about why we went to war. The Clinton reference was given as an example of a twisted half truth. When he said "sexual relations" he was literally talking about intercourse. There is his out for being able to say he didn't lie. That is exactly the type of things I'm saying Bush and crew have done. Saying "we have no plans for permanent bases" on day X doesn't mean there weren't plans for them on day X+365. They may have known they were going to plan on bases, but at that point in time it might have literally not even been discussed yet. Hell, no one from the administration discussed it with me, but I knew we'd have permanent bases before this was all over.
  14. I didn't realize the Cubs were down by two. Anyway, it made for some interesting discussion.
  15. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 25, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) Matrix? I thought he was doing a Joe Cocker impression. It's a difference in generations.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) Well he has a big salary of 10.5 million per, is injury prone, an erratic fielder, can't run, and is hitting .240 or so right now. If that isn't untouchable I don't know what is . That's untradeable. Untouchable is designated by the current team.
  17. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:51 PM) I doubt that. Why would he write about it, and mention returning in "a few weeks", if he were really being s***canned? Maybe he doesn't want to get flat out fired for not following the company line?
  18. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:33 PM) The only thing interesting about this series against these f***ing Canadians is whether we beat them by 10 or 20 runs each game. RIP EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta love your enthusiasm.
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:48 AM) There would have definitely been some blood shed... and fuggettaboouuttt that silly little cup protecting anything. LMAO!!!! You da bomb!
  20. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) damn it, don't move this when I am posting! Anyway, as I was saying, this reminds me of a place that I was - keyword WAS - employed on a much smaller scale. Bank Fraud... How much time did you get?
  21. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:53 AM) So, YAS - let's restate this then. It's ok to lie about aims of war, as long as nobody "really" believes it. I contend that there was never an outright lie. They just did what all politicians do. That is, bend the truth to meet their momentary needs. And don't try and tell me the Dems don't do that. "I've never had sexual relations with that woman" is a prime example of bending the truth. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:51 AM) The conversation is heading into new directions probably worthy of more than the catch-all Dem thread. But I think I am looking at the big picture, which is basically that the actions of this heavily NeoCon policy-influenced administration have caused us as a country to pretty much screw the pooch as far as our world position/power/alliances/economy for decades to come. You're correct about the direction this is headed, but at least it's not a contentuous conversation. As for the last part of your post, that remains to be seen. But, yes, the possibility does exist.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:46 AM) ABC stuck to their story overnight, despite the DOJ denials. Lot of smoke. Probably some fire.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:45 AM) I totally agree. I would have done a LOT more damage... I bet you would have, and I mean in the best of ways.
  24. Hastert isn't taking this laying down. His lawyers just released contents of a letter sent to ABC accusing them of slander and libel for sticking by their story abfter the DOJ denied it. Called ABC's actions perpetuating a 'known falsehood'.
