  1. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 06:44 PM) I think you have that theory backwards. Ain't that the truth!
  2. I picked a top 10 and then number 30.
  3. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 10:45 PM) Heard on TV and read on the internet that Bruce Sutter was the only person elected to the Hall of Fame. I would think that Jim Rice certainly should have gotten in as well as Rich Gossage. Gossage > Sutter
  4. QUOTE(kevin57 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) Like most of you guys, baseball is THE game. Yeah, football and basketball can provide some excitement, but baseball... In terms of weather, it's been a rough winter. Oh, I know it's been mild for January, but milder weather means clouds, gray, ... :puke I too am in the afterglow and am fine with that for a while, but next to Game 4 of the WS, the next sweetest moment will be when the Sox get their rings. Won't that be a moment for the ages? The next sweetest moment is when the FANS get their World Championship flag raised.
  5. Seems the Sox made some believers of some people.
  6. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) If we put "God" at the forefront of America, why have the protections in the Constitution for freedom of religion at all? Also, there are 250 million Americans (give or take), and depending on how detailed you get, anywhere from at least a few dozen to as many as 250 million different ideas of what "God" is. Seems pretty arrogant to say that your God should be at the forefront. Anyway, just to clarify, I've been a churchgoer (on and off at times) my whole life. Lots of great things can come from a belief in God or some other system of faith. I just want to make sure that everyone gets the same protections in this country regardless of their version of God, or lack thereof. Your statement just felt to me like an insult to anyone not sharing your particular belief system. People are free to believe in whatever they want to believe in. I'm not going to get into a theological discussion. I believe what I believe and do so unashamedly. If this country continues to turn it's back on God, we will go down the s***ter. Now I need some sleep. Have a good day.
  7. QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 01:01 PM) what in the??? he was saying unfortunately for the poster that the facts don't back up that claim... I stand by what I said.
  8. QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 01:02 PM) willies fast, and ginsberg had a mean curve. That's for sure.... it breaks hard to the left.
  9. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) But your response was to a posting about going to Church. In any case, same question. Do all people who do not believe in God, or not believe in your particular vision of God, belong in the "s***ter"? Do you actually believe that making American better or stronger necessitates a belief in a specific God? If we want America to be better, maybe we should focus on actually fixing the problems that exist, instead of hitching our fortunes to one particular guiding force in some people's lives. Especially since this country is supposed to be a secular state, protecting the freedoms of all believers and non-believers. Let's focus on the problems at hand, and not fall into the intellectual laziness that is mass-cultural stereotyping and categorization. You've got your opinion, I've got mine. I believe God needs to be in the forefront of America. As for whether or not an individual is in the s***ter without God, that's not for me to say. We'll see what God has to say about it at a later date.
  10. QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) with a name like javier AND lopez... must be an all star its like naming your kid Willie Ruth What does Harris and Justice Ginsberg got to do with this?
  11. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) Still feeling "fuzzy" man, you can't change that. LMAO ... I wasn't trying change anything. Enjoy the moment.
  12. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 12:46 PM) Awww, now I'm feeling all "warm and fuzzy". Thanks. It doesn't distract .... that's the key, imo. You can read a post without the av being a pain.
  13. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 12:44 PM) lol the second arrow huh? He had one for the apple on his son's head. The second one was for the guy that forced him to shoot the apple off his son's head ... in case he missed.
  14. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 12:42 PM) lol Boog_Alou, I remember that guy, he had more posts than almost every single regular and maybe he did have the most posts there. I was known as William_Tell13 there, haha big difference I know. I liked being there but the new format sucked I thought and most of all the trolls were all over the place such as Boog and DoveMason from the Cubs board and many others. My name comes from the legend of William Tell obviously. My last name is Tell and I've been nicknamed William or Billy because of that. When I see you post, I always think about "the second arrow".
  15. Never cared for the vid avs either. But Kid, yours is an exception to the rule.
  16. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 12:37 PM) So if America goes in the "s***ter" without God, is it safe to assume you feel that anyone who doesn't attend church belongs in said "s***ter"? I said nothing about church. I was talking about God.
  17. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 07:18 AM) You just had two people in this thread agree with the idea that Al Qaeda = palestinians. That's kinda sad. Show me.
  18. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 11:00 AM) Wouldn't it be more accurate to title this thread, "Congress declares this forum illegal"? Or maybe "The government declares this forum illegal"? Congress wrote the law and stuck it to something else, and the government as a whole implemented it. Bush's part in signing off on it is worth noting, but I would put the responsibility more on the shoulders of Congress than him. This was not a Bush "thing". I have to side with some of the GOP'ers here who have expressed annoyance with putting all evil in the realm of Bush. It's Congress being stupendously un-tech-savvy, while trying to do something they think is positive, which caused this. Let's try to reserve our criticism of Bush for when he really deserves it (there are plenty of those situations). Republican congress.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) Unfortunately, the statistics don't agree with you there...while Christianity sure seems to be on the wane in other countries, church attendance is on the rise in this country, according to the most recent census data. Unfortunately? You want a Godless America? No wonder the liberals are dragging this country right down the s***ter.
  20. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 11:41 AM) i think it'd be funny to go back and see how many times this joke was made even so, its still funny cuz its true I think he faked it. Then had Lisa give him therapy sessions.
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 08:04 AM) In a weird sort of way, I am almost dreading the start of the season. After the perfection that was 2005, I don't want that afterglow to go away. I like the dreamstate of being the World Champs. I'm with on this but only to a certain extent. I am enjoying this off season basking in the glory of being a Sox fan. Yet, I do look forward to hearing "Your World Champion Chicago White Sox take the field!"

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) Man, I have a tough time looking at your sig/avatar. You are not alone. That thing makes me cringe every time I see it.
  23. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 03:03 AM) Tries to steal others' thunder. Also slowly realizing with each passing check how much ss2k5 is slipping... Doesn't realize that ss2k5 is probably not going to be changed.
  24. No one claimed the all Muslims were thinking like Bin Ladin or Zarqawi. That argument should be part of the equation, because it wasn't broached. However, the stated goals of these jerks are pretty clear and to the point, yet that part of gets ignored. Typical liberal misdirection ploy.
  25. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 02:06 PM) Didn't I already start an Alito thread here? My apologies man. I started this thread while in SL&P. I looked while in there and, of course, didn't see one.
