  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) Of course, but he should have only gone 7 innings. If we lost that game 3-2, you guys would be reaming Ozzie right now and rightfully so. The offense saved Ozzie's ass from criticism tonight. Period. Some people would b**** if you hung them with a new rope. :rolly
  2. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) As awesome as that inning was the fact that they didn't watch the runners and let Willie just walk into second base really hurt them big time. That was their f***ing mistake. If you let the tying run watlz into scoring position in the 9th inning of a tie game, you have majorly f***ed up. Edit: The tying run...
  3. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) Agreed. If this is 2 years ago we lay down and go out meekly in the 9th. And I give credit to the manager for this team having the current mindset.
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) I thought we were going to extras when AJ popped up into the dugout. Choi had a good shot at that one. Choi should have caught that ball, but he pussied out on it. Ex-Cub factor, of course.
  5. I said much earlier in this thread that we'd get 'em. Well, we got 'em!!!!!!
  6. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) OMFG, Paulsy didn't even run. Lazy f***. Do you really think it was laziness?
  7. LOL ... Hawk was trying to make that ball stretch wasn't he?
  8. Gotta love those long baggy pants AJ's wearing.
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) This game's looking familiar. s***ty pitcher, offense going down 1-2-3, lots of walks for other team. Hang in there. We'll get 'em.
  10. Cool. I don't know how that escaped me. I usually know when the Sox are going to be televised where I can see them.
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) AJP throws out a runner, thankfully. And a little pop up. Uribe had trouble with the sun on that one. Scared me for a moment.
  12. During the top of the first, I was thinking how much Freddy physically resembled Early Wynn on the mound ... then they show side by side pictures of them.
  13. 4 BB and a dinger. Coulda been a lot worse, results wise.
  14. Freddy better find his groove or this is gonna be a long one.
  15. Now these are the uniforms that I grew up watching the Sox play in. Very cool.
  16. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 06:01 PM) I dont think we've been in a save situation since he pitched last. Have we? The next night, after Rowand's 3 run shot in extra innings.
  17. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) Do you honestly care that much? I'm sure the Admin of Chicagosports.com, who is the only one able to see the locations, really cares about the maturity of posters at Soxtalk(Which he obviously doesn't, considering he said so himself). And explain to me how its possible to trace it back to Soxtalk? Unless someone drops a word to him(And who would do that?), I don't believe it is. Interesting question. Oh ... I guess you're right. The fact that there is a public thread here that has now reached 24 pages long, detailing what is being done, is inconsequential. Nobody will notice that. :headshake
  18. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) I would move Colorado to the AL West, Houston to the NL West to make 6 5 team divisions. Each division would play a 3 game home and 3 away against each team its opposite division, ie Al Central V NL Central. A 2 game home and 2 away series against each team in one of the other interleague divisions (for the AL central, NL East one year, NL West then next). A 3 game home and 3 away against all non-division teams in the same league. And 2 3 game home and 3 game away series against the other 4 teams in it's division. --This adds up to 158 games which permits the WC series to start earlier -something that should have been done when it started. --All teams in the same division play the same teams the same number of times home and away. --Every team in baseball will play at every park at least every other year. --Keeps the natural rivalry series which makes big bucks for baseball. There is one major problem with this scenario. You would have 15 teams in each league. With 15 being an odd number, you'd have a scheduling nightmare. You'd have to have at least one interleague series going on at all times or one team from each league would be sitting idle. Even with an interleague series going on all the time, I don't think this is doable.
  19. Frank's had a couple of freakish injuries, that's for sure. If Frank wants to play another 5 years, he better start listening to Herm instead of waiting till something happens and then start listening. I'm not sure Frank will ever completely overcome this current injury. I hope that by next March he'll be back to 100%. If he can do that and avoid any more major injuries, then he can hit for 5 years.
  20. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 08:06 AM) There's also baseball etiquette involved here too. If your leadoff guy is getting on enough in a game to steal 4 or 5 bases, there's a pretty good chance your team is comfortably ahead. To keep stealing in that situation late in the game tends to piss off the opposition, to the point that someone may get drilled. So people don't keep stealing, by and large, in that situation, because it becomes an individual glory kind of thing that can rebound against the team. Plus, if you break a finger with a head first slide on your attempt to steal base number 7, you got a huge problem with your own team. I think the record is safe. Well put.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) 40 million credit card numbers compromised. Thank Goodness the Credit Card industry is working hard with Congress to make it harder for people to declare bankruptcy and is totally ignoring this problem. Priorities. It's all about priorities.
