QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:59 PM) i thought he had been too rested lately. he looked a little rusty from the padres series forward. How could he look rusty over that stretch? He didn't pitch till Sunday night.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) I was there and at gametime the 3 corner sections were all basically empty but a bunch of late arriving walkups came and the park filled out nicely. I was kind of disappointed at first because of it being half price and it only looked like a 29-30k crowd but it ended up being alright. A sellout should be accomplished when it's half price night for the best team in the MLB. I really think that in 20 years the Cell will sellout every game. There is so much to do in the ballpark. There is something for everyone. Fundamentals is awesome, but we were too old to do stuff there. That's something for the kids. The bullpen sports bar is really nice and the concourse/fan deck are a great place to hang out for the teens/middle age. Then the old folks can go to the stadium club or club section and have a good time. It's such a nice ballpark, way to underappreciated. Old folks? Yer Banned!

QUOTE(hi8is @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) can on of the mods re-name this thread to something like hi8is shaves head as a result of white sox win just so people know what this thread is about, and not ok for serious heh You got it dude. Hell, you've earned strictly due to the entertainment value.

Cotts is a valuable asset right where he is. If you make him a starter, you turn him into a great big question mark ... along with his replacement in the bullpen.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:28 AM) It just won't be an All-Star game without Crede Garland is a lock and may even start. Buerhle is going. Hermanson should be but who knows when people start calling in favors. Ozzie has a spot on the bench, and can leave after the 6th inning. Next is speculation and what happens with injuries. Gooch, pods, AJ, Kong, Carl (before the article hit), would not embarass anyone by being selected. Ozzie won't be there. He has to handle some aspect of his trying to attain his US citizenship.

Welcome to Soxtalk, Minny. Sorry I didn't welcome you during the game thread, but I was kinda ... uh ... busy at the time.

QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) Haven't read all of the posts on this thread, but I have mixed feelings about whether he'll be traded or not. Maybe his bat isn't where we'd like it to be, but who knows how many runs he has prevented from scoring with his glove. He's also got a good team attitude. I'm sure KW takes that all of that into consideration. The other side of it......Crede's contract is up this year. Boras is his agent. KW wil not deal with him. Would he want to get something for Crede now, instead of waiting until the year is out when he'll get nothing in return? Thoughts?????? Joe Crede is not a free agent after the season. We won't lose him unless the Sox choose not to offer arbitration, which would be ridiculous for the Sox not to. Williams will have to either negotiate with Boras or go to arbitration. My bet is that he negotiates.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) No teaching, just watching. Yeah, it's a shame he didn't fall to us. I'm not mad about Hinrich or anything like that, it's just Wade's a level above Hinrich. Pax tried to trade up to Toronto in order to select Wade. In hindsight, it was a deal he should have made, though I can remember the details. -

I want to thank those that realized things were getting out of hand and decided to just stop when I asked you too. To those that keep on keeping on, that will come to a stop one way or the other. -

QUOTE(ReinsdorfSucks @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) it's more of a cop out than anything else. the "we're still #1" rah-rah stuff is good to a certain degree and only is about short term thinkin and not long term thinking. Cop out? In the middle of a winning streak? Sure ... whatever. -

QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) We shouldve kept McCarthy down at AAA. He's not ready yet and all we are doing is wasting his options. We shoulda brought up Adkins or Bej see if they got it, atleast until el duque comes back plus they already got major league experience. We used one option when he was up the first time. That's it. He can bounce up and down all year without "wasting" any more options. -

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) Stop. You have to give him a chance to work out of some jams. They still have the lead, he was one pitch away from getting out of it. The manager showed confidence in a young starting pitcher. He will not get better unless he gets a chance to face tough hitters in tough situations. This is the big leagues, Guillen can't baby this guy. Further, they need to know damn fast what he can do and what he can't. Agreed. Manuel's babying of Garland impeded his progress. I'm certain of it. -
