  1. I merged these two threads.
  2. QUOTE(go-sox05 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 09:09 AM) we should trade to get Schohenweis back. Your credibility factor takes a major beating for that remark.
  3. There is one HUGE factor in this debate that no one has bothered to mention. Aaron Rowand is the type of player that doesn't give a rat's ass about where he hits in the lineup. He'll hit anywhere, one through nine, that Ozzie puts him and he'll be happy because he's in the lineup. Players that have that attitude and can still be productive are rare. Aaron Rowand is Ozzie's wild card. Ozzie needs a lead off hitter, Rowand bats lead off. Ozzie needs a #3 hitter, Rowand fills the role quite capably. Frank is comfortable at number 3. Rowand is comfortable whereever. Ozzie is no idiot. He's using this particular feature of Rowand to his advantage.

    These things were hilarious. I'm reading this thread, laughing more and more as go farther into it. Toward the end of the first page, my jaws and mouth are aching from laughing so much. Then I get to the internet-fraud/tubgirl one. Putting it mildly, I lose it. I'm laughing so hard that my head is down on the desk ... people at work are looking at me, and laughing ..... My eyes are watering immensely. I had to actually leave the building to regain my composure. Five minutes later I'm still laughing so hard I'm crying. Damn.
  5. Ravel's "Bolero"
  6. Buerhle's ability to keep the ball in the yard this year has been surprizing.
  7. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) Just because somebody roots for another team, it doesn't mean they're an idiot. You have to give us Sox fans a break on that particular issue. Most of us are from the Chicago area and in that area, somebody that roots for "another team" is generally, an idiot.
  8. I want to see Shingo have a couple of effective games against the Tribe. Then, I'll have a bit more faith.
  9. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 02:34 AM) Think about it.... The WHITE sox... huh huh... Well, I knew your comment wasn't intended to be taken literally. But I sure couldn't figure out what angle you were coming from.
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 02:30 AM) Racists
  11. Dusty was supposed to be the man that could take the Cubs to the promised land. It hasn't quite worked out that way and Cubbie-Imagi-Nation is not bowing down as he had anticipted. Oh well, Dusty, life's a b****. :headshake
  12. Let me say that Ozzie has done a wonderful job this year. However, anyone that thinks he is the greatest Sox manager of all time is either: A. A kid, that has no historical perspective whatsoever. B. Just got off the short bus. C. or Both A and B.

    That CF matchup doesn't appear to be undeservedly one-sided to me. Our guys must have been slacking. :rolly
  14. Ask me on August 1st, after the trade deadline and everyone's roster is pretty well set. For example, if the Twins traded some of their plethora of young talent for Oswalt, I'd certainly want to dodge them.
  15. wow

    This is my one and only message board posting home.
  16. As wonderful as this is, there's still a lot of baseball left. We had a 4 game on June 14, and after June 22 action the lead is up to 10. It can dissipate just as quickly. In the meantime ..... Hell Yeah!
  17. wow

    Welcome to the board.
  18. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) Kittle hit a roofshot when I was there. So did Luzinski. It's awesome to see the height of a roofshot and no more ball. I was there for a Luzinski rooftop shot. Oil Can Boyd was his victim.
  19. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) I guess that is good for the sox, GM's see KW as a good guy to deal with. He won't fleece you, you don't fleece him. Both sides win, both sides are happy. Although I agree with whoever said watching Reed in the web jems hurts...a lot. I'm very happy with our centerfielder.
  20. Reed has a chance to be a very good one. He's just a rookie, so don't expect him to hit .330 yet. He may do it eventually though. Morse might turn out to be a good player for the M's as well. This is potentially another trade where both teams benefit, eventually.
  21. QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) Dick Allen hitting the old Comiskey scoreboard. Why do I not remember this? I saw Allen hit the back wall of the CF bullpen on a line, but I don't ever recall anybody hitting the scoreboard.
  22. The fact that Trammel survived the last couple of years in Detroit is worthy of a sympathy nomination, if for no other reason.
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) banned? that reminds me of the stanford game! Now that was one I could appreciate.
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Sigh... Seems there's one in every crowd.
  25. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) And there are still doubters out there I doubt it.
