Gagne to have Tommy John
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:56 AM) He will miss all of next season as well, won't he? I think that's what I heard. They are hoping he'll be back by next year's allstar break. "Hoping" being being the key word in that sentence.

College Baseball Playoffs Thread
The ASU-Nebraska game was followed by Baylor scoring 8 in the 9th to come back and win 8-7, eliminating Tulane. Whoa! Major correction here. Baylor was down 7-0 after 6 innings and came back to win, including 3 in the bottom of the 9th.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:27 AM) Did anyone other than you bring up carlos lee? I might have missed it. Start with the very first post of this thread and keep reading. This whole thread is revolved around the Lee trade.

Brantley: Garland is the All-Star starter
As of this moment, I'd lean toward Halladay. But, there are still a few more games to played.

Considering this trade was made several months ago and it has been discussed on here to the point of nausea, we probably should let the guy be a Brewer and enjoy the players that are White Sox.

McCarthy out of rotation; to bullpen as swingman
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:44 AM) Cotts is our best reliever right now. He needs to stay in the bullpen. That's for damn sure.

McCarthy out of rotation; to bullpen as swingman
QUOTE(Da Sox @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) anyone else kinda worried that this leaves us with only 4 starters until duke comes back? I think this more of a case of the two upcoming off days, Wednesday and then Monday. By pitching Garland on Sunday, he'll be on his regular rotation. If they don't pitch him Sunday, then he'll have 6 days off instead of 4. Then this, in turn, keeps the rest of the rotation on a 4 off day schedule. I don't think they'll just push BMac back, but actually skip his starts until he's needed again. This will also allow Ozzie to pick his spots to use BMac in, and try and build some confidence. I like this plan.

6/21/05 Game Thread CWS vs KC
For the 4th year in a row, Jon Garland has gotten his 12th win at the expense of the KC Royals. For the record, I just now saw that this freakish stat was also posted in White Sox Winner thread.

Moronotti flip-flops stance on Sox as expected...
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) I tend to think he is starting to run behind the bandwagon right now. He always catches on before its too late. He isnt on the bandwagon, but he is getting close. If the Cubs get demolished next weekend, he will be driving the bandwagon. He did the same thing when the Cubs went to the playoffs in 03, it is just taking him a little while to fall off the Cubs bandwagon. When you see him grab the bandwagon to jump on, stomp the hell out of his hands. That will keep him off the bandwagon, and keep him from typing for a while.

Let's hope Frank Viola III can approach his father's effectiveness somewhere down the road.

Notes: Keeping Hermanson fresh...
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:32 AM) One thing I did notice. He started to struggle when we went and had all of the series against the NL west teams, where he pitched for years as a starter. I wonder if that was a part of the problem? That's something I have considered as well. It's not beyond the realm of possibility.

KC Radio Guys
QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) Perhaps they're still pissed off about the Gamboa incident? But really, those announcers are a couple of jag bags. Do people actually have to have a journalism degree anymore to do any type of journalism? They need to research s*** before making ignorant blanketed statements. Can you blame them for being bitter folks, they do live in ugh... Missouri! As Grandpa Simpson once said "It'll be a cold day in hell when I consider Missouri a state!" They all should have journalism degrees, like Hawk and DJ!

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) Freaking mom must of beat me to watching it and erased it after watching it on DVR. She loves to spite me by going in and erasing stuff I have on there I've been watching Into the West (haven't seen this weeks episode yet) but I loved the 1st episode. Its a pretty badass show/movie, imo. I've been watching "Into the West" as well. I enjoyed the 1st episode, but thought it was a little slow to develop. The 2nd episode was much better, imho.
