White Sox History
Correct. So along with Names on the uniforms, ladies day and Disco Demolition, Veeck also invented the "rent-a-player".

SOXTALK Trade Talk
Did the last two games not convince you that this lineup cannot be counted on to beat (not beet ) a quality right handed pitcher? ... If not, check out the past 3.5 years. To answer your question directly, the Sox don't have a Josh Beckett.

Positive Koch Thread
Billy Koch didn't pitch well for us, that's a fact. But rarely do you see a guy step up and accept responsibilty for failure the way he did. He may not have earned my respect as a pitcher, but he damn sure did as a man. Best of luck to you, Billy Koch.

Livian Hernandez
Yes! Livan Hernandez is a quality pitcher. He would be a great addition to the staff. I'd rather have him than rent-a-pitcher Gracia.

KOCH TRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now all we have to worry about is Koch blowing the 7th game of the NLCS to the f***ing Cubs.
-
Munoz and an acquired starter
They need to get Cotts back into the regular bullpen rotation. He's a quality young pitcher that is not going to develop if he doesn't pitch.

Sports Weekly Sox Trade Rumor
I wouldn't mind seeing "Badge-n-arrow" up here either. I think he'd be decent.

What Reliever Should Replace Koch?
That is a mindboggling thought, consider Wunsch was so effective last year and Koch was, well, not. There has to be something seriously wrong with Kelly or him being the union rep has gotten him in some very hot water. That couldn't the reason, could it? The Sox don't play that s***.

SOXTALK Trade Talk
No. We need a LH CF that can bat 5th. To break up the Maggs, Frank, Lee, PK all in a row situation. Uribe, Valentin or Olivo, depending the pitcher, could all do well in the number 2 spot.
-
Freddy Garcia
I detect a bit of posturing on Bavasi's part. Sure, all these teams mey want Garcia, but do they have realistic shot at putting the proper package together?
-
What Reliever Should Replace Koch?
Considering Koch was getting $6.5 million and Wunsch is earning $800K, it speaks volumns.

What Reliever Should Replace Koch?
I have a sneaking suspicion Kelly's time with the Sox is done.

You think there are any more deals coming soon
Benson has shown the capability to be a very good pitcher. He's had his arm problems, which put him on the DL for a long time, and I think he went under the knife. If so, he should be just about ready to come back to his normal abilities. Maybe, these past two starts are an indication of that.
- Embarrasing

Maggs might be back next week
I think he last played on or about May 25th.

Yankees "real close" to acquiring Freddy Garcia
In light of recent developments, I'm going to make a prediction. Jon Rauch & Wilson Valdez for Freddie Garcia. Just a hunch on my part. There is no basis of validity to this.

Joe Borchard article
I think the Joe Borchard era will soon be at hand.

Remember mariotti's column yesterday?
It's good to hear the excitement level in the Cell and the city seemd to be mounting. I hope the team can play well enough to keep it building and that KW makes other moves that just add to it.
-
Munoz and an acquired starter
All we should expect from Munoz is that he does a decent job until we get another quality starter. He'll get his feet wet, go back down with some confidence and take his shot next year.
-
Josh Beckett...
You're right. It did.
-
Livian Hernandez
I agree. It doesn't make sense from that perspective. However, if they do decide to dump salary and start from scratch next year, then I can see this. If you remember who is currently footing the bill, then trading Livan is entirely conceivable.

KOCH TRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Jose will cost more than $2 million as well. He's worth more than that to this team, right now.

Sports Weekly Sox Trade Rumor
I'm not sure that Everett would produce much more than a Rowand/Gload platoon. And the there is NO comparison defensively. Everett is just horrendous out there.
-
Sports Weekly Sox Trade Rumor
To offer a counterpoint, I suggest you look at the last two games. If we are going anywhere in the playoffs, we are in DESPERATE need of a solid lefty RBI producer.

You think there are any more deals coming soon
Maybe, but USCF is only 385 miles from Finley's home town. That's fairly close and he might take that into consideration.
