We knew what we had with Valentin at this point in 2000? Jose was a huge question mark when we traded our ace pitcher, Jamie Navarro, for him and Eldred.

I wouldn't mind adding Beltran, but I damn sure don't want to give up Crede to get him for 3 months. And Miguel Olivo is abso-f***ing-lutely out of the question.

Buehrle is going to have to adjust to Olivo. He feels comfortable with Sandy, and that's cool. He felt more comfortable with Burke because of bullpen sessions, but he knows it's eventually going to be MO. Mark's a pro. This will not be a problem.

Seems to me one of the shortfalls of the Sox PR dept. over the years has been the failure to market the players individually. Personally, I like the idea of the pregame introductions.

Grilli. I think it would have been Rauch if he hadn't have screwed up. He's been lights out since he went back down, from what I understand. I think they'd be rushing Munoz just a bit if it was him. But I'm hoping it's that Ben Sheets guy.

Personally, I think they should just get the LuvaBulls out there.

This Contreras thing is "outside of the box" thinking by KW and it's a very intiguing idea. It's certainly better than doing nothing and it just may turn into the type of move that puts a team over the top. It could backfire big time too, but I'm impressed with the thinking processes going on here. As long as we make damn sure we aren't trading for Nardi.
