June 15, 200421 yr http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...-2004Jun14.html Uhhh.... Va. Tells Men: No Sex With Young Girls The Associated Press Monday, June 14, 2004; 1:57 PM RICHMOND, Va. - The state is posting billboards with messages such as "Isn't she a little young?" as part of a campaign to dissuade men from having sex with underage girls. The campaign is aimed at reducing the number of young girls who have children with older men, the Virginia Department of Health said Monday. In 1999 and 2000 in Virginia, men over 18 were responsible for 219 births involving girls who were 13 and 14, the department said. Messages such as "Isn't she a little young?" and "Sex with a minor, don't go there" also appear on posters, coasters and napkins in bars, restaurants and stores in five cities. "We encourage adult men to talk to their peers and discourage them from pursuing teenagers. What they are doing is unhealthy and against the law," said Robert Franklin, a health department official. ---
June 15, 200421 yr Not really something you want to see when you are driving past on a highway is it. Pretty sad ppl need to be told this though isn't it.
June 15, 200421 yr It's sick that anyone would want to date a girl that young.... :puke So you can take your date to Chuck E. Cheese's and not get strange looks.
June 15, 200421 yr Seriously, this is freaking sad that the state has to spend money on these type of billboards. WOWZERS
June 15, 200421 yr This isn't anything new in this country. Everywhere in this by the way. Older men have been marrying underage girls for decade upon decade. In fact, from the expansion west of the Appalachians forward, it was almost a necessity.
June 15, 200421 yr Yep, I was with a sweet young girl last night, she was 15. 15!? Yep, but don't worry, she had the body of a 13 year old
June 15, 200421 yr Ladies and Gentleman... I present the Republican South! Sorry I couldn't lay-off this joke.
June 15, 200421 yr Nothing in the ad campaign strikes me as odd, compared to the simultaneous campaign they are thinking about launching in West Virginia. The billboards there will simply read: "DUDE, NOT WITH YOUR SISTER! OR YOUR COUSIN!"
June 15, 200421 yr I don't consider 16-17yo to be "children". They are anything BUT. 13-14yo? Different story altogether. :headshake

June 15, 200421 yr You may not, but the legistlature seems to think so. Especially if the "one true love" happens to be over 18. In some countries the legal limit is 14. In most others 15-16. Who is to say who's right and who isn't? I couldn't give a s*** about what legislature thinks quite frankly and nor did/do many of my friends. Just take the necessary precautions (it IS a big price to pay afterall, so check the state statutes, know the family, etc) and you'll be fine if you're 18-19 and she is not, unless we're talking about under 16 in which case proceed at your own risk. Luckily, don't have to worry about it now, though. YMMV
June 15, 200421 yr In some countries the legal limit is 14. In most others 15-16. Who is to say who's right and who isn't? Easy, the laws in effect where you are at. Morality and laws even right and wrong changes.
June 16, 200421 yr As they say, if old men didn't want to nail 16 year old girls, there wouldn't be a law against it!
June 16, 200421 yr As they say, if old men didn't want to nail 16 year old girls, there wouldn't be a law against it! What about nineteen-year-olds?
