To start, Williams did publically single anyone out, as he didn't use any names. If a player has a doubt about whether or not Williams was referring to him, then I'd say that speaks for itself. If you even have to question yourself, you better pick up the tempo. So, this could have a positive effect on several plays, as opposed to a negative effect on one. I would say that the player has to be either Shingo, Koch or Uribe .... with Schoeney as an outside possibility. I'll be very curious as to how he pitches today. He should be using all of his pitches by now, and pitching like it was April instead of March.

Billy Koch is definitely still a concern. I wouldn't hang with him too long, if I was Ozzie. In fact, Manuel did that last yaer and it cost us in the end.

Good young lefties are like gold. They can't all eventually pitch for the Sox. Sounds like some serious trade fodder there.

I agree with the sentiment that if the actually use him, it wouldn't hurt him to have him on the team. But if he's only going to pitch an inning or two a week, he needs to be in Charlotte.

That was speculation on our part here at Soxtalk. The thinking was that Carlos, being an ex third-sacker could probably handle first base if need be. I can't recall ever hearing anything about it from anyone in the Sox organization.
