  1. I still think Danny Wright is going to be a good pitcher... either starter or closer, someday. Not as confident in Rauch. But, I'd move either one to get Williamson.
  2. I still love the idea of Maddux in a Sox uniform. And if he has a great April and May, he might, just might, actually get his 300th win in Wrigley Field. Now wouldn't that be SWEET?!
  3. Bingo. I agree. The Dodgers balked on Huff because he's a lefty and with Green they need a righty for balance.
  4. Back to Magglio (From the L.A. Times): You notice that the "Dodger sources" say KW is being unreasonable because Maggs is expensive and could walk. He his not being unreasonable, apparently, in baseball only terms. Stick by your guns Kenny. Maggs, even for one year, is worth it. Maggs in his walk year could very well be the AL MVP.
  5. I'm in 100% agreement with you on this.
  6. I think the team and the fans will miss Colon the most. That was my vote.
  7. For another perspective on the possible deal: Sun Times Article
  8. Beastly, If we can't sign him should we just let him walk at the end of the year?
  9. My wife tried to kick me out of the bed once. I told her at that time that it was my bed as well and no one was going to kick me out of my own bed and if she didn't want to sleep with me she could sleep on the couch. That set the precedent, though it was rare, that if either one of us was angry enough not to sleep with the other, then that person would make the choice, their self, to sleep on the couch. That was many years ago. Though what is discussed above has nothing to do with it, she is now my ex-wife.
  10. So now I'm praying for the end of time To hurry up and arrive Cause if I have to spend another minute with you I don't think that I can really survive I'll never break my promise or forget my vow But God only knows what I can do right now I'm praying for the end of time That's all that I can do I'm praying for the end of time So I can end my time with you. As I was scrolling down this thread, the point that you made was the one that was forming in my head. Very well said.
  12. And so ends the self-inflated "legend" of Saddam Hussein. Considering the 4th ID was based in Texas, a Jimmy Johnson quote seems most appropriate here: HOW ABOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!
  13. Cashman did not make this deal. Kenny worked his ass off to acquire Colon. Give the dude credit for what he does accomplish.
  14. Do you people actually believe everything you read?
  15. He is also an ex-teammate that is very familiar with Frank. I'm sure he had something in mind when he did that. Like that he knows which buttons to push.
  16. Just because a deal is not done by the Sox in N.O. does not mean that the seeds to a future deal have not been planted. All this crap about JR and KW using the meetings as an excuse for a vacation is just that ... CRAP!
  17. Whether it's there or not, it HAS to be bulls***. There is no way in hell that a rookie manager can come in and dictate to the GM who is to be traded. Anyone that gives any credence to an article like that, well, I have some ocean front property in Arizona I'd like to talk to you about.
  18. Garcia for Maggs is unacceptable. Period.
  19. ...... I joined Soxtalk. I'd like to thank everybody here for a most enjoyable year of talking White Sox baseball. I'm looking forward to 2004 with the optimism and hope of any real diehard Sox fan. May the Baseball Gods smile on the Chicago White Sox in 2004! :fthecubs
  20. The fact that Drew is out of the picture is a very good point. I like Konerko for Perez. Seems fair and fits the needs of both teams/
  21. Even as it now stands, I like our top three starters better than most out there.
  22. Jay Peyton would work for me.
  23. One of the rumors mentioned .... and I know we've speculated about it before, but I found the way it was worded to be intiguing.
