  1. Oh ... one other note. Greg Maddox got career win #350 tonight.
  2. I just did some checking. In 11 years of his ML caeer, Cabrera has played 33 games at 2b. None since 2000.
  3. QUOTE (aprec32 @ May 10, 2008 -> 11:14 PM) I know....its just the overall body of work. I just wonder whats going on in his head sometimes. Generally .... nothing! LOL
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 10, 2008 -> 11:12 PM) My line of thinking is if he can play SS he can definitely play 2nd since it's the same basic skill set. But he would need to have played there some in ST first. However, I just don't think they still thought they'd have Uribe on the team when they traded for Cabrera, and Uribe is just kind of at 2nd by default after an unexpected turn of events. Yes, maybe ... but we know Juan can play 2nd very well. Switching them just might weaken our IF defense. It might strengthen it too, but we don't know if Cabrera can turn the DP from that side of the bag. That is an acquired skill in most cases.
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 10, 2008 -> 11:10 PM) There are times when I half-jokingly wondered if we could just DH for Uribe and let the pitcher hit. Uribe has been hitting fairly well the last week or so. No hits tonight, but 2 walks.
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 10, 2008 -> 11:10 PM) Cabrera, if he isn't in your long-term plans Not necessarily saying they should just go out and switch Uribe and Cabrera, just that I think Uribe's the better fielding SS. I guess when Richar comes back this will all be a moot point. Can Cabrera play 2nd?
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 10, 2008 -> 11:06 PM) Definitely one of the stranger plays I've seen but it was a hell of a heads-up play. It's the kind of thing that makes you wonder howcome Uribe isn't playing SS over Cabrera if he's going to be in the lineup. Who'd play 2nd?
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 10, 2008 -> 11:04 PM) I really like watching Uribe throw, he really has a cannon. I wonder if he's ever pitched before? Not as a professional, obviously. That throw to Home was the play of the game.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 10, 2008 -> 11:03 PM) Nice! As much as I hate Uribe, he looks good at 2B. Damn right he does. And that's winnar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 10, 2008 -> 11:01 PM) i've read the site for a while but for some reason decided to register now after midnight. lets win this game and not have to use jenks Post often. The more the merrier.
  11. QUOTE (G&T @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:58 PM) Thank you. That makes me feel better. No charge.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:57 PM) yeah, these late night west coast games are great on the weekend when you are out at a bar, but suck when you are trying to stay up at home to watch Welcome to Soxtalk.
  13. QUOTE (G&T @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:57 PM) I have some studying to get done in the morning. Of course I'm still sitting here. You got your priorities straight.
  14. QUOTE (G&T @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:53 PM) Man it's like 1 am here. Damn time. Sleep in, it's Sunday.
  15. Cleveland is the only team in the division to notch a W today. It would be nice to get this one.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:45 PM) Holy cow, that a boy Toby! I'd love to see us have Ramirez run for him. Agreed.
  17. QUOTE (G&T @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:42 PM) I didn't want to be that guy, but someone had to do it. Oh hell ... it was funny. And on Linebrink getting out of that ...... Whew!
  18. QUOTE (G&T @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:40 PM) Edited to edit the word "editted." LOL ... I almost did that too ... but said to hell with it.
  19. The only thing about that Uribe/Hall play is that we have to face Beltre again. Editted to add missing word.
  20. QUOTE (G&T @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:35 PM) 1-2-3 please? That'd be nice.
