  1. Yeah..... enjoy it for a month and 21 days playoffs not withstanding. JR and KW will make sure that isn't the starting rotation come Opening Day '04. You can count on that . You are almost certainly right about that. But, I'll worry about that in the off season. For now, it's as Al Davis used to say ... "Just win baby!"
  2. It's obvious that Frank is a much better hitter when he plays 1st base... But, damn, he needs to learn how to be just a DH. He's not getting any younger.
  3. Is that Cool or what?!?!?!? We have to thank Bullard for bringing Cotts on board, and for coming on board himself.
  4. Here's to Neal Cotts! Congrats on your promotion to the big club. Bull, we hope to see you soon, too.
  5. You just said that you have the mentality of a reliever. Throughout history, relievers have often been known to be quite flaky. Does this apply here? LOL Especially lefties! LOL
  6. That just proved my point. YOU THINK you're always right!
  7. There's no need in arguing with a woman.
  8. Damn HSC... that's disgusting.
  9. LOL ... That must be it. But I just wanted one for old times sake.
  10. I was weened on Old Style. And since I don't have the opportunity here in KY to have it very often, I like to have at least one when I visit the big city. I neglected to do that last trip. How the hell did that happen?

    Board Behavior

I'm 5'11" and set my max weight limit at 200 lbs. I try to stay at about 195 though. I once got up to 211, so I took these simple steps to lose weight. I drank lots of water... before, during and after meals. And, I stopped eating whenever I felt full. I didn't eat everything just for the sake of cleaning my plate. That did it for me. I lost 23 pounds in 6 weeks.
  12. I watched that game from beginning to end. Carbo's 3-run shot in the 8th was the big hit of that game. Pudge never would have had the chance for glory without it. What a great game that was.
  13. Jim, you say "Reed has been pretty good as well." From his numbers, he appears to be the real deal. Any thoughts from you in this regard?
  14. This game is not done. We'll rock Lilliy.
  15. I think it's to soon to give up on Jon Rauch. Give him this year to heal from the surgery. Next year should tell the tale.
  16. St. Louis is maxed out payroll-wise. That is why they didn't acquire any pitching at the deadline.
  17. You are drastically underestimating the value of Olivo to this team. Everyone is in agreement on his arm, but he has become very good at handling the pitching staff and calling games. I believe I recent read that the team's ERA when he catches was in the top 3 or 4 in the AL. As for his bat, well the dude has picked it up since the break, to the tune of about .275, I believe. You focus on one poor at bat he had, but stop and look at his overall game.
  18. No! ... If Beane trades Mulder to us, you can bet his fastball will lose 8-10 mph.
  19. Leaving Mark in allowed the bullpen (read Flash and Marte) to have two full days of rest. After the KC series they were both about shot. Thankfully Mark had a great night and JM was able to let him finish it.
  20. More info ........ from the Daily Southtown: I hope Olivo is right.
  21. I think what was meant is that someone who will jump ship and talk about everyone sucking the second something bad goes wrong might be a borderline fairweather. I know I get ticked when we make stupid mistakes and I comment on it, but I would never s*** on the guys like some do. I know some might call it passion... personally, I don't understand what is accomplished by it. And it makes you look kinda silly when they rebound and you start praising them again. Yes roman.. I am using you for refrence here Steff ... I knew what she meant. I was just goading her a little bit. Innocently, of course. But, she didn't take the bait.
  22. Buehrle stepped up big time tonight.
