Colon, Koch and Konerko are proven veterans. You have to know the talent is there and they'll come through eventually. I never gave up on Colon or Konerko and I'm not giving up on Billy Koch, either. In fact, you'd have to include Mark Buehrle in that group too. 3 out 4 have come around, now we need Billy Koch to do the same.

OMG! how bad is THIS....
If we don't win this division, it's because we let the damn Tigers beat us so many times. That will be "it" in a nutshell.

Astros Get White
I'm willing to give Ginter a chance. White had all year to come around, but still left with an ERA over 6. I'd also like to see what Danny Wright can do out of the pen. If he can be effective there, we can send Ginter down and bring up Cotts or Porzio in the 5th starter's role.

Are we being Cocky??
Great job, witesoxfan. It will be interesting to see what kind of response you'll get. If any.

Astros Get White
I would hardly call Rick White reliable. Unless you are relying on a disaster to happen.

Sox need to find a way to beat Oakland
I'm certainly not very confidant going into this series. Our bullpen is all out of whack right now and we just used Loaiza and Colon against KC, so we aren't going to be throwing our best against the A's.

Looking way ahead
Look at it this way. If we need those games, and can't win them, then we wouldn't do anything in the playoffs anyway. Yet, if we need them and take them, it might give us a surge going into playoffs. Heading in there as a hot, clutch team can lead to the start of something good.

who pitches in the 9th??
That does, on the surface, seem to be the best plan. That's if Marte can handle being the day in, day out closer. It would strengthen the weak right handed side of our bullpen if Flash can used earlier, instead of as the closer.

Stienbrenner does have a way of doing that, doesn't he.

SOXNET.NET SR MANAGERS
(Geez Heather's writing is horrible...i hope for our sake he doesn't post that, ugh) Who said that??????????????? At least I'm not a b****ass dildo-f***ing half-assed cock sucking dips*** jackass!!! For the record, I've never heard anybody call you a jackass.

Bad Managers
If you stop and think about it, this team has not lived up to expectations in 2001, 2002 or 2003 (yet). I really believe that without at least advancing past the first round of the playoffs, Jerry is gone.

Robbie Alomar worth the trade
I don't know. he was a cancer in the clubhouse and a bonehead between the lines. But other than that, he was great. I don't understand why he's gone either.

a prediction
No ... just games 3, 4 and 5.

If Henson can get out of his NYY contract, this is what he'll probably do. If the Texans don't sign him, he goes back ion the draft. He will attempt to scare away all potential drafting teams by having outrageous contract demands. If successful in his attempt, he'll be an undrafted free agent and can sign with whoever he chooses. And.. I think Boras is his agent, so they'll probably pull this off.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
That'll be in April, when Koch is pitching for Boston. LOL

SOS!
That just seems like a complete contradiction of itself to me. That's why I pointed out the obvious.

Early start tomorrow
Kinda hard to find dates at that time too. LOL ..... And the women may "look better at closing time" of the local bar, but they generally look rough at 8 AM, unless they are on their way to work.

a prediction
Hey Detroit has the Twins number now! They won 1 after losing 16 in a row to them.

30-20 is .600 ball. That's not that easy to do. Need to beat the Royals and Twins when we play them, the rest will take care of itself.

Early start tomorrow
If it didn't put such a cramp on my social life, it wouldn't be bad at all.

Early start tomorrow
I'll be watching. Working nights occasionally has its advantages.

Robbie Alomar worth the trade
I agree. Robbie has been a great pickup for us.

Baseball Card Thread
A buddy of mine was remodeling an old house a few years back. He saw a stack of old football cards that had been nailed to a rafter. One nail through the whole stack. Pulled the nail and in that stack was a Johnny Unitas rookie card.
