    Crede

If he had no official at bats, the streak would continue. An 0-1, however, would end it.
  2. Welcome aboard! That's usually the formula for any division winning team. Agreed. I'd hate to lose him but he's not worth the gamble of a long term contract. Agreed again. I disagree here. Olivo is good enough that the team just has to bite the bullet and let him develope into a hitter by facing ML pitchers. That's EXACTLY what he needs to do. We can't afford to see what these guys can do ... we are in a division race, for now. But, I doubt JV is back next year. Good first post!
  3. Right. Why would we want to play a guy with a suddenly hot bat. It makes no sense to have him in the line up.
  4. I'm with Bmr and Killa on this one. Frank should just shut up and hit the damn ball. It's all a matter of focus and training your mind to function a certain way. There is no way that, as long as he has been a DH, not to have figured this out by now.
  5. Enough of that s*** already! It's not like you are going to bed him. LOL Amen to that Oh lookie.. the peanut gallery got himself out of bed.. Cute I know I am.... I know... I agree!
  6. It wouldn't be that difficult to get Rowand more playing time. First, start him against all LH pitchers, in place of Everett. No Brainer! ....... Occasionally rest Carlos, let Everett play left and Rowand in CF. Occasionally sit Frank, with Everett as DH. Occasionally Let Frank play 1st, Everett DH, rest PK. And always use Rowand as a defensive replacement when we have a lead late in the game.... like the 3rd inning or so.
  7. LOL ... I saw the game earlier, and I am at work right now. But, thanks anyway.
  8. 1967 the 4 team race us, Boston, Detroit, Minnesota - for months no one was ever more than a few games apart from the others it came down to the final week - we lost a doubleheader to the KC As (not Royals, As) and Boston won when Minnesota dropped the 2nd game of a doubleheader on the last day of the season - that was so nip and tuck, teams trading places, no one getting ahead or behind week after week after excruciating week - this season may be like 67 and if it does, it will make real Sox fans out of you all, separate the "can't take it"s from the diehard survivalistl fans - and mature you up into the perpeptual joy and agony that is White Sox baseball Ah yes, my first real heartbreak as a Sox fan. In '64 I was 6 years old, so it didn't really hit home at that age. But '67 .... that still hurts to think about. Thankfully, the '69 Cubs made us all feel better.
  9. U know I love Frank. But sometimes I wanna stick a passafier in his mouth. He's so delicate these days. He needs to play 1st. He needs people throwin for him. GOD DAMNIT JUST GO OUT THERE AND BE THE FRANK WE ALL KNOW U CAN BE... Thank You! Just shut up and hit the damn ball, Frank!
  10. I don't see Everett staying with the club next year. It just doesn't make sense. He's a free agent and the Sox have Reed/Borchard on the horizon. They can play Rowand in CF next year, keep Lee in LF and they will be fine in the outfield. I also agree that either Paulie or Frank must go. My guess is that Frank will bolt, unless the Sox fire JM. Then he may bolt anyway. If Frank does bolt, that team he goes to will not have to pick up his contract. He would negotiate a new contract with his new team. If neither Frank nor the Sox pick up the option next off seaswon, he'll be a free agent and his contract will be null and void at that point. We will still need to get a good solid left handed RBI producing bat this winter, to replace either Frank or PK. I don't think Daubach will hang around, since he hasn't gotten much playing time.

    guys CHILL

Garland has been a much better pitcher at home than on the road this year. Let's hope he is on his game Tuesday night.

    guys CHILL

Please don't say that. Someone predicted we'd go 7-0 on the last road trip and we all know how that turned out.
  13. I believe ss2k3 is correct about the 40 man roster point.
  14. Steve Stone was looking at Ozzy with this incredulous "wtf?" look on his face. I had to laugh.
  15. They very well could end up with a worse record than those Amazin' Mets. Though, I do believe that Trammel, Gibson, Parrish, etc are laying a foundation for that team and they will be back to respectable relatively soon.
  16. I agree with cwsox in that JM hasn't been as bad as he has been made out to be in here. Having said that, I do believe the team has really underachieved this year. More so than any other team JM has managed. I believe JM's run has, or ashould, about come to an end. It's time for a new approach and I do believe Wally Backman is the man for the job.
  17. Welcome to the board. Post often!
  18. I basically ignore guys like Lima. I don't give them their props when they do well, and I enjoy it when they hit the skids like Lima did when the 'Stros moved into what was then 10-run Park. Of course, he still sucked with the Motor City Kitties, too. Let's hope his half of a good season with KC is a mirage and he goes back to being terrible.
  19. Bmr, it is really a shock to hear your spout out words of hope, visions and miracles about the Sox. But hey, I'm all for it. Bring on the miracles!
  20. If I was putting together a team from scratch, I'd take Prior. No doubt in my mind. The closers are great to have, but I think you can create closers, use them up, and send them on their way a lot easier than you can develope a great starter.
  21. We are going to win or lose this division race with the team basically composed as it is. Olivo will catch, Robbie Alomar will play 2nd, etc. They are not going to "back up the truck" while 2 games back with 40ish to play.
