That's hindsight Bmr. I know you questioned it at the beginning of the 6th, but from JM's point of view, I think he's trying to build him up for the rest of the season. We may need an 8 inning game from Cotts before this year is done. Besides, he knew he had a well rested Sully available.

stick a fork in this team?????
For the record, that is affirmative.

Props to Rex
We certainly do not take him for granted, Bull.

Congrats Cottsy
Steff thinks your hot, Neal. Congrats. Oh yeah, congrats on the victory tonight. May there be many more for you in the silver and black.

Good point. If you think about it, we made up 7 or so games in about two weeks time after the break.

This is a place that people can come to when they need to vent when things are going bad, and also to share in celebration when things are going well. There is no need to get critical of the people on this board, as they are generally a very good, knowledgable group of Sox fans. In fact, I think they are the best.

That really does hurt Oakland's wild card chances. Hudson hurt his hand and skipped his last start. Zito has been struggling. Harden has been getting rocked now that he is not facing Detroit or Cleveland. Lilly is a number #5 and they've added Halama to the rotation. It wouldn't surprise me to see Livan Hernandez in the green and gold soon.

I've always been one to take a "wait and see" approach with any new player, whether it be a minor league call up or an acquisition from another team. I had never seen Cotts pitch, but I had been watching those Barons box scores. Cotts did seem to master his control somewhat the last two months. I was very hopeful that he could help us out, as we really needed it.

Gotta Leave
Hey Killa, Where are you going to be in So. Ill? If I get the chance, I might look you up and have a cold one with you. I live about 20 miles from the Illinois - Kentucky border.

what a weirdo!
Question mark suit? .... I thought that was the Riddler.

August 31/September 1
Well, as we all know by now, the Sox have acquired a reliever. As for September call-ups, I don't think there will be very many. There might be 3 or 4 guys that might be able to help us win a game here or there, but there is no need in having guys here if you aren't going to let them play. And they won't play them as long as we are in the race.

Kinda funny...
yes we play both yanks and boston in their houses...as far as getting a good read on whats going to happen we have a 50/50 chance at doing something good... if we cant get the road games under control and win a few there, were gonna lose it all........ That is very good assessment of the immediate future for the White Sox.

THIS TEAM IS DONE.
If we can play winning baseball on the road the rest of the way, then I'll believe this team has actually pulled their collective heads out of their collective asses.

Hey Everyone!
Strangely, that made sense to me. That is kinda scary.

GAME THREAD (8-21): Team Viagra vs. White Sox
My bad. I didn't see the game and was trying to follow what happened by this thread. I retract my previous post.

What's it take to win the AL Cy Young?
You'll have to go back to the pre-free agent/arbitration days, I would imagine.

GAME THREAD (8-21): Team Viagra vs. White Sox
I don't see why Wuncsh is getting raked over here. He actually did the job. He got the DP grounder to end the game. It wasn't his fault the play wasn't made.

Cool. Thanks for the info.

Miguel Olivo
Hey guys, do not underestimate the value of Chad Bradford to the Oakland A's. He's THE guy out of their bullpen and has been for years. Forget Koch and Foulke. When the A's need that one big out in a ballgame, it's Bradford that gets the call. However, for our purposes, I like the deal. A good catcher his so damn hard to come by.

What's it take to win the AL Cy Young?
Since Greg Maddux ... when he won it with the Cubs. Just a guess and couldn't pass on the opporunity to put a dig in on the Cubs.
