X-rays came back negative. He's day to day .... but then again, aren't we all.

SOS!
I disagree Heather. SOS is not refering to a given night. It is measuring the overall strength of your remaining opponents. We've got a tough row to hoe if we are going to win this thing.

never give up
Waive goodbye to the whitesox of 2003 boys. Well, we know where you stand now. You've more than made it clear.

Jerry Manuel = DUMBASS
I didn't like that move when it was made either. Maybe JG will get pissed and decide it's time to show JM how he screwed up.

never give up
I'm not "booking it". If, at the break, someone told me we'd be 13-5 and 3 out at this point, I'd have been thrilled.

Some questions to answer in Seattle...
I wouldn't say we aren't as good as the M's right now. I like our chances of making the playoffs much better than I like the M's chances.

Selig Makes Reds-Yanks
Bud Selig showing some brass balls? The end of the world must be upon us!

I'm afraid of a September slump
psychotic? No ..... that is just way too easy.

Poll -- Barry Bonds
He's perfect capable of playing till he's 45. Bonds did say something a few days ago about just passing Ruth and not caring about Aaron. But I think his ego will force him to go for it all. Hell, he may even set his sights on Sadahara Oh.

Nelson takes it back
Not only will they make it in, but they'll be the last ones standing when it's over.

Roy Halladay
You've got to give Halladay credit. That was a helluva run. Though, we would have busted that up sooner if our bullpen could have held on to that lead we had.

Nelson takes it back
That would be my guess, as well.

Nelson takes it back
Yep. Same as last year. This time the M's might hold on the take the wild card, but I think the wild card team will come from the East.

Of Course....
Someone had a mistaken assumption, it appears. Glad they kept Ginter and sent White out.

Let's see .. the '64 Phillies blew a, what was it?, 9 game lead with 2 weeks left in the season to the Cardinals. Anyone here ever hear of the '69 Cubs? The Angels blew a big lead to Seattle just a few years ago. Can't remember the year. This guy says two in 50 years, and I think of 3 off the top of my head. I'm not sure, but this might be a case of curving the truth. Maybe the teams you mentioned had less than a 7 game lead at the ASB but built their leads higher later in the season. Then, they gave up the lead late in the season. I love it when people tell the story so the numbers are in their favor. I could care less what some columnist from kc thinks anyways, he's just trying to keep the hometown folks happy. I think you probably hit it right on the nose. So this dude twisted his facts or didn't bother to do any research.

Carl Everett...I'm calling you out.
If Frank had been hitting, we'd still be in KC .... scoring runs.

July RBI Leaders
All in all, the defense has been steady all year, other than Jiminez. Robbie A just made that much better.

Carl Everett...I'm calling you out.
Everett must have seen this thread, cuz he responded big time.

Rick White optioned to AAA
Without Rick White, JM should have an easier time of figuring out how to use the bullpen.
-
Rick White optioned to AAA
No. A player with as much ML service time as White has the option of accepting or not. If he chooses not to go to AAA, he's a free agent.
-
Rick White optioned to AAA
White will probably not accept the demotion. He'll become a free agent. Of course, this is just a guess on my part.
