  1. As long as we keep hitting we can be right there with any of them.
  2. Oh hell ... Jiminez was a moron that we were going to release, basically. He totally sucked. In fact, by the time he was gone, I considered him a liabilty rather than an asset.
  3. The Royals just went out the west coast and kicked some ass. No way they suck. They may falter, but they are solid.
  4. If you stop and think about it .... Glover and Jiminez for Schoenwicjkhjkkj .... not too shabby.
  5. I agree with you on Gammons. He's awfully east coast oriented, but he usually has his fingers on the pulse around the majors.
  6. Drew for Suppan (from the Cards' point of view)? Wow. That is a steep price to pay for a guy they could have signed as a cheap free agent before the season.
  7. If he can stay healthy, look out. I like that kid.
  8. Yep, I read that article. Gammons mentioned tonight that the Sox were interested in Aaron Boone. That was the first I had heard of that. I wonder if there were serious talks in that area.
  9. We were worried about losing Cotts to Texas, and we knew Honel wasn't going anywhere. I think that is why we focused on Cotts so much.
  10. Good. He doesn't need to give up "too much".
  11. For what it's worth, Gammons did say tonight the Williams thought he was going to get Williamson for the Reds before he was shipped to Boston, so he was definiely working on that possibility. The O's want Crede for Ponson, so that ain't gonna happen.
  12. Here lately, it's been "Imagine" by John Lennon.
  13. 1) Who will win the series (CHW/KC) (2 points)? Sox 2) Will Buehrle keep his streak alive (win or no decision) (Y/N) (2 points)? Yes 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 1 4) Name a pitcher who will earn a win (either team) (4 points)? Buehrle 5) How many earned runs will Sox starters give up (5 points)? 5 6) How many times will Carlos Lee reach base (5 points)? 5 7) Who will lead the Sox in runs scored (4 points)? Robbia Alomar 8) Will Aaron Rowand get a start (Y/N) (2 points)? Yes 9) Will Billy Koch make an appearance (Y/N) (2 points)? Yes 10) Will Aaron Guiel hit a homerun (Y/N) (2 points)? Koch

However, if he is claimed off of waivers, and the Sox choose to let him go, then the other team would pick up the entire contract.
  15. Let's see here .... Boston wants Hernandez, the Expos have him and the White Sox can use him. Someone call Cashman!
  16. We are not going to demote, waive or release Koch. He'll very likely be next year what we expected him to be this year.
  17. No way will this team open up next season completely in tact. There are always changes made. Some guys get old, some young guys gert ready, some free agents are let go while others are signed, trades are made. It's just part of the equation that this happens.
  18. To start, let me see say that it would not surprise me if we picked up a starting pitcher before the trade deadline. If not, from what I understand, Danny Wright has been struggling in AAA, so I don't think he'd be the one chosen. I'd really like to see Cotts finishe this year with out hitting the 40 man roster, just to keep his service time clock from starting. One name that hasn't been mentioned, and I don't know how he has been doing in the minors, is Josh Stewart. Is he healthy yet?
  19. The timing of White's remark is totally unexcusable. And what is the big deal of having a starting pitcher sit in the damn bullpen?
  20. I've seen this guy at the ballpark... He's not kidding. LOL. Frank has, at times, deserved to be treated less than god-like. He's opened his mouth and inserted his foot on numerous occasions over the years. But, I'll take a guy like Frank, that says what's on his mind, over the circus atmosphere that has surrounded Sosa all these years on the north side.
  21. Probability is high this poster is not a KC or Kansas City Royals fan. The reason being Kansas City Royals fans were put on the endangered species list almost 15 years ago. They have increased in value since they are so rare and people have had a hard time distinguishing between genuine KC fans and bandwagonners who suddenly realized there is a baseball team in Kansas City this past April. Most likely this is a case of the latter because real KC fans have been in the woodwork too long to risk showing themselves on a White Sox board in July when their team clings to a 4 game lead in the division. I saw a real KC fan once I think, but I was drunk so I'm not sure... No, that KC fan you thought you saw had to be like the proverbial pink elephant.
