If the Red's ownership wants them gone, someone will trade them. They only have a few days to do so.

I repeatedly stated that I wouldn't trade for Benson.

We could have used him in Chicago for the first half, the way things went. But Rowand is coming around, and Everett is still very good with the bat.
  4. cwsox, I have agree to agree with on the Alvarado and Richard comment. They were awful. But Clayton doesn't rank to much above them. Give me a Scotty Fletcher type over Clayton any day.

I have the ticket stub from the game that Bobby Thigpen broke the single season save record. It was also the first Big League game for both of my sons. I almost pulled in a Bo Jackson batting practice foul that was just barely out of my reach down the right field line. That would have thrilled my boy's immensely as Bo was the man back then and they were big fans. Jeff Montgomery gave each of my boys his autograph. And it was the only time my sons got to attend a game in Old Comiskey, which is why went to the game, specifically. The memories of such days brings me immeasurable joy, tinged with sadness, since the passing of my youngest son.

Yep. This is typical Sox luck. Jasom Stumm (is that the correct name?) for example.
  7. I agree Gash. My sig will change when I'm convinced, as well.

I'm glad Eldred is doing well. He was nothing but class in a Sox uni.
  9. Raiders, Bears, Vikings are all great uni's. I like Tampa's new ones and the Broncos old ones.
  10. Johnny Carson was king.
  11. Schwann's Raspberry Rumble is awesome ice cream.
  12. Going out on a limb here ..... Aaron Rowand.
  13. Robbie Alomar.

I believe this is how it will work with Frank next year...... Frank has the right to renew his option with the Sox at $6 million. If he declines, the Sox have the option to renew his contract at $8 million. If both decline, he is a free agent and can walk away. I know the $6 M and $8 M are the correct totals, but someone correct me if I am wrong on how the options work. Note: The option values for 2005 are $8M for Frank and $11M for the Sox. In 2006, Frank's option is $10M and the Sox option is $12M. Frank can also receive up to $2M in bonuses with a Top 10 MVP finish. I think Frank still has an escape clause of some sort if the Sox pick up the $8 Million option next year. I just don't remember what has to transpire for him to invoke it.

That is how I acquired the '83 Topps set. Pack by pack, with the exception of about 12 commons that I picked up at a card show in 90. As for the Baron's set, yes it is very similar. In fact, that thought crossed my mind before you pointed it out the first time. That's a nice looking set of cards. Your Gary Peters card is a 1966 Topps, right? If memory serves me correct, yes it is. I would pick up occasional old Sox cards too, as I collected.

At times, it does get aggravating when you want to see highlites of the Sox. The first Toronto game, they showed the Jays hitting and scoring, none of the Sox... even though we won the damn game. But, it ain't worth getting all bent out of shape over. If we win the WS, they'll cover it.

  18. You have to take into consideration that the Rangers would have probably received 2 supplemental draft picks if they would have kept Everett. Why would they trade Everett and the picks for 1 quality minor leaguer? I don't consider this an overpayment at all. Everett is a gamer, and a damn good one at that.

If we got Benson to go with Koch and Colon we'd have the complete set of guys that Dibble says do not know how to pitch. Sounds like a KW move to me.

Even a blind squirrel gets a nut every now and then.
  21. I would give Manuel a choice: grow out a huge afro or your getting a mohawk. I think he should let Dennis Rodman dye his hair.
  22. This calls for a little something extra..... f*** YES! f*** YES! f*** YES!

wsc425 .. forgot to answer one of your questions. I have every Fisk card I could ever find. I have over 100 different issues.
